Very good point! How fickle are the comments of these so-called cricket fanatics! Just one innings will change a `hero` to a `zero` and vice versa. Surely this is not the right way to judge a player whether it is Sachin , Rahul, Dhoni or anyone else for that manner??? After years of hard dedicated service to Indian cricket, a person sitting in an armchair at home can bring this hero down so easily. Life can be so unfair at times...!

Gurpreet who told you that u are paying from ur pocket? They are not given salary from tax payers' money like our govt babus. Try to play cricket for 90 overs at least one day and then you will know whether they deserve it or not?

Dear mahapatra.this is not by one innings Ok,this is for the hard work done by Dravid in the last 13 years .he is not like sachin who play only for personal records and flop when matter most

Dravid is the only Batsman in Indian Team which can get selected in Australian team .Othe rplayer might have personal records but dnt have courage, determination to fight it out when it matters most .Good going Dravid best of luck

same folks would be bayig for his blood like our selectors who are too biased while ignoring this true batsman for one dayers whichch Indis lost so badly. We could have saved our face had The Wall been there in one dayers ! Hats off, Rahul. He needs a good felicitation like Sachin.

please mind your comments ! Rahul is a national hero not limited to any state ! All of us should be proud of him. So what if Kannadiga's feel more so?

Surely Dravid is a national hero & he has proved it many times before too not just in this match ... so what if he fails in next innings, we know that he always gives his best... even in ODIs he is far better than what people think about him... He has won many matches for India in ODIs too ... people forget just too soon & criticize him for no reason ...

Gurpreet, Rahul Dravid though was brought up in Karnataka, he is a Marathi Brahmin by birth. He doesn't even talk Kannada well. He speaks better Tamil in fact. He has married a Marathi girl from Nagpur. But we are proud of Rahul because he plays for 'India' and not Karnataka, Punjab or Popatland !
I hope BCCI and Indian press celebrate Dravids 11,000 test runs as they did for Sachin.
Unfortunately, Dravid and Kumble has been ignore by the Indian media time and again. None of their feats were recognized.
Kumble and Dravid have contributed to Indian win as much as Tendulkar has!... I guess its time that we recognise these two indivisuals contribution to the Indian cricket

I believe Dravid's contribution is even more valuable because his contributions has let India win in foreign soil like England, Australia, NZ, WI. But who cares right since he is a conventional cricketer he is boring and people hate him because of this. I really wish our country would appreciate different facets and tone down its hero workship.

You are right. He will be our greatest hero who will be missed the most once he retires.
Those who know test cricket... would know that Dravid is really a class player... Their aim is not huge hits.. but sensible play.. thats y only few players can sustain in test cricket...

Dravid is definitely the best and most accomplished Test batsman India has ever produced. This includes Gavaskar, Tendulkar, Azharuddin, Vengsarkar and others. Only I can compare Viswanath with him

Vishwanath was a genious...who used to score hundreds on unplayable pitches against unplayable bowlers when the team is in desperate situations..according to many he was the best batsman ever played....a true artist played with lot of style, elegence and courage......ask sunil gavaskar..without a moment he will agree....no one will play like him today...unbelievable player with his wrist on both sides of the wicket..
