Stop too much praise
by mandook on Nov 14, 2009 03:07 PM  | Hide replies

The news channels and the media are creating a super hype about Sachin. No doubt he WAS a class cricketer, but his career is long over. But people in our country idolise people on the basis of past performance which in the words of mutual funds are no guarantee for future performance! stop all this nonsense and get on to play positively and comment dispassionately.

Mr Mandook
U mane suggest that u are a coup mandook. Kua ka medhak.
If form is the criteria his consistency, performance & match winning contribution is still much better than dhobi, yuvi, gambhir etc. Forget about reamaining useless dhobi friends in team.
Based on ur logic , all remaining 10 should be dropped from team before sachin & only school going kids less than 20 yrs age should play in indian team. Its a fashion with u type of low iQ people to make age a criteria for everything.
Last week only dhobi & his friends all found in a night club , dancing with girls, smoking & that also imediately after Hyderabad loss. It was flashed on all media channel. U want these type of average & low dignity players should continue ^sachin should be dropped just beacuse he is 36 yrs of age. U are a real useless guy.

Then why not u drop him.

Gavaskar was a better batsman than Sachin. Just look at the quality of the pace bowlers Gavaskar faced and that too on pitches which were not even covered at night. No helmets too. Just class techniqe and skill. No neutral unprises at that time

He had a skull cap under his hat, if you recall.
I am surprised that no one talks about Sir Garfield Sobers, who had an average of about 58 in test cricket (more than 8000 runs in 92 tests, with 29 centuries), and who could tear apart an attack. He was the complete cricketer ever, with 5 different types of bowling style (the fast medium, the off and leg cutters, the china-man and the googly), having taken 236 wickets and taking more than a 100 catches.

Rahul or Sachin
If BB Mama's stats in Illustrated weekly long long ago one reads: It is Viswanath
Similarly any statistics says Rahul won more mathces for india than Sachin : So Rahul is great

How Can You Forget his innings at PERTH in 1992-93

You talk about Sachin Masterclass and you forget about his Innings at the infamous WACA during the 1992-93 seris down under. I think that was one of the finest knocks of his that set him apaprt from the rest.

Kosigi:

Since in your tiny brain, there is only enough space to put ONE cricketer, you can have Rahul.

What happened to Viswanath now? Has he been displaced by Rahul? :)

But wait, Rahul is in and out of this Indian team, especially in ODIs, so keep him in your brain only temporarily, coz soon you will have to displace him with a Raina, or a Yuvraj :)

World Cup match at Sharjah. Who conducted it? Yourself. Shame Shame. No world cup match as yet in Sharjah. Try to gather full information before writing any comments. Also don't forget a lollypop catch given by Sachin was missed buy Razzak in that match which helped India to win. Else ????
Whatever maybe the case Sachin has always failed under pressure, in boling favourable conditions and specially agt. quality bowlers of Ambrose, Wasim etc. Even a Zim. bowler has taken Sachin"s wkt on more than 5 instances. He has been suspect agt. rising deliveries. Most of his 12,000 runs have come in batting favourable pitches. Soi nothing great about it. Further his knocks have been that much all match winnings or match savings for India. So its just a personal landmark. Thats it.

If sachin cenyuries in Aus , SA etc against likes of donald, pollock, Mcgrath, warne etc were not enough to suggest that he can play any attcak at any surface.
What u have written- all applies to ur dear friend dada- who was just hyped & not capable of playing rising deliveries or quality bowling attack. He could score only on flat pitchs. same apply even more on ur friend dhobi.
Mr chakravory, plaese come of regional mindset & talk about some cricket.
BTW I am from bihar & biggest fan of cricket.

He was instrumental in both win.
Whteher its sharjah match against australia(not wcup)- he scored two back to back centuries or its wcup match against pakistan wether he made 98 runs.
Both occasion he tore the bowling apart. Pakistan attack included greats like waqar & Shoiab akhtar.
This new breed of players like dhobi & his friends will shit in the pant if they had to face likes of waqar, akram, donald,Shoiab Akhatr, warne , pollock etc.

Gift of God
by pradeep chaturvedi on Nov 14, 2009 10:46 AM  | Hide replies

Humble, calm, composed, determined adjectives just fall short to describe this man. Truly gifted at the same time very humble. Some things are created just to cherish, love and adore and Sachin is one of them. It will be foolish to compare him with anybody for that matter. The art of batting displayed by hime over the period of time and across continents is a thing to savour for the followers of the game. In batting , Bradman (averageing 99.96) is the parameter by which everybody is measured and when he himself called and met Sachin and described his style and technic as the closest to Bradman then thereafter Sachin doesnot require anybody else' compliment. He is truly a gift of God and we are fortunate to witness the rise of this comet in the fermament of Cricket. May God bless him.
