155 vs SA,Blomfentein
by itla kumar on Nov 14, 2009 10:42 AM  | Hide replies

I think the author has missed this one, which he made in 2001.It was also the sehwag's debut match.India was 42/4 ,when sachin launched a counter attack on SA attack which had Pollock,Ntini,Hayward,Klusener & Kallis. At the end India made close to 400 in that innings.

I agree with you. In fact this was the last attacking test innings played by Sachin against quality fast bowlers in their own country. The only regret is that he just gifted the wicket after making 155. India ended with 373/7 at the on day first. However, still India lost the match

Sachin is great followed by kumble, dravid & laxman as far as talent & contribution is concerned.
Rest of all including dhobi & his friends are just overhyped players , useless & just created by media & regional fans.

lanka n board pres xi match
by vinay on Nov 14, 2009 10:40 AM

lanka n board pres xi match
the practice match for lanka n board pres xi was abandoned with poor ground conditions.
what the bcci officials cud hv done was that they cud hv shifted the venue of the practice match from bandra to the new mumbai - dy patil stadium where the 7th odi was cancelled.

after the rain had stopped, play cud hv started on that ground, it was better to get some play for lanka n also for our fringe players to show case their talent.

His 114 aged 19 against Australia in 1991-92 on a lively perth pitch pitted against 4 genuine quickies is the best of the lot.

Dhobi & his friend found dancing in night clubs with girls around , smoking & drunk. Just after hyd ODI loss. Flashed on many TV channels.
This dhobi & his friends are shame for Indian cricket.

irony apart, i think he will be the greatest sportsman india will be ever producing. he had the flamboyance of krish, the calmness of sunil, the boringness of shastri (if he was in the nineties) or the cunningness of kumble (remember hero cup). even when comparing with other sports individuals (noun as well as adverb), like bhutia, p t usha, sania, dhyan chand, wadekar, etc he is the best. probably at par is vishy anand, cause he is the only one still in the reckoning.

two quick forties ...
by Alok Pathak on Nov 14, 2009 10:27 AM  | Hide replies

Its from the 1996-97 winter tour of south africa. During the traingular ODI series, indians were literally tormented by potent pace attack of M/S Donalds and Co . In both the 'washed-out' final and the replay match tendulkar had scored breathtaking quick 40s , it was quite unimaginable to witness flurry of boundries at the beginning on the ground where the whole team was dismissed at 100 and 66 in a test match a month ago.

His best knock is his hundred in third test in 2008-2009 tour of Australia, after what had happened in second test ,it needed a hundred from Sachin to lift the moral of the team which helped team India in achieving the best Test win ever.
