i can not understand how Karthik can be a replacement for either sehwag or gambhir. there are much better established players waiting for chance. why not rohit sharma or robin uttappa!

karthik is a much better wicket batsman than dhoni.only thing favouring dhoni is his captaincy skills.otherwise i dont see dhoni playing instead of karthik

as kris srikanth is a selector and he is from tamil nadu, so he needs to play dere state players, dats it guy

they are taking this favourism now to an outrageously low level. there should be some accounability,some points system in domestic circle as well for each skill like opener, specialist batsmen, keeper cum batsmen, spinner, pacer etc. that point system will help in making a transparent selection of players.

I dont agree with Partiality in selection. As you say lets assume ,we bring in a points system and apply the points system for the last 4 seasons, lets see who will be the first person to be selected in the team. It will be S Badrinath. He is from TamilNadu. So,according to your point system,he should be selected,but he is not. Again you told, Srikanth selects only TN players.Please explain this paradox.

karthik has always played well when ever hew got the opportunity.he played well in england,pak and recent WI series.he performed very well in IPL and even in the champions league he hit 3 consecutive sixes.he takes time to settle but once he gets settled even dhoni cant match him.even NSW is going to hire him.
If Gambir & Shewag is not palying in the eleven, better Praveen Kumar or Harbajan Singh to open the innings along with sachin tendulkar.. so that being a pitch that favoring pace bowling, team india can include munaf patel and virat kohli in spite of gambir n shewag..

Dinesh Kartik should be in team eleven and he should open with sachin and Virat shall be in first down and remaining order shall be as per 3rd ODI.
India will miss Gambhir, as he is playing well , since past 3 years now, but Sehwag is not playing that good. So india will not miss his services. What I fail to understand is, why are we not looking into future, why Dinesh Karthik. We have better players in youngsters like Sikhar Dhawan, and middle order in Manoj tiwary. I know Manoj has got so many chances, yet if you compare him to karthik, Karthik got many chances, on which he failed to capitalize. He is always under pressure, as he knows until Dhoni is there, he can't cement his place. Its just the grace and blessings of Kris Sreeknath, that he is getting chances. When Kris is in commentators box, he says all hoopla and doopla about cricket and BCCI , now when he got a chance, he also turned the same color. Race before talent. Shame on these fellows who sacrifice national pride for regional favours.

in fact the top batsmen should be alternated with similar promising guys. Rohit Sharma is much better alternative than karthik.
