If Rahul is THE WALL then Gambhir is definetly "THE FIREWALL". He has proved that he is capable of being as reliable as the wall and can fire when required. truly a FIREWALL.

and lucky as well, particularly the slip catches he gives regularly, and they are dropped. Sehwag early in his career had such luck, but it will stop someday, till then lets enjoy it.

india can win if they block in morning and then blast 300 runs in few hours before making NZ bat like 50 over One Day. Let us see if NZ has balls to chase.
Yuvi will have chance to show if he is pesty or he can stand up for india.

Best way is to give banana to new zealand players. while they are eating our bowlers can get them out. we can win that way.and how about giving banana's to nz fielders?

yeah india can blast 1000 runs before lunch and then bowl nz out in 1 hour...
those no supporting Sehwag are like sheep following the herd. We backed Dhoni in the T20 SA when he was dumped with B grade players. People like Joginder Sharma rose to the occasion and so did Rohit Sharma. Yuvi was on and off playing politics until he realised that Dhoni was propped by management to pull a plug on him. Tendulkar was not there in T20. Now we know Dhoni is into pesty mode as well.

One question..what is "PASTY" mode...and what kind of english is that?LOL
i think, we should have increased the run rate @ nearing 4 could have a lead about 80-90 runs once the first session is passed off without any damage!!!!!. team think tank should have taken bit aggression in passing the massage to the middle about the game plan. by playing another 30-35 overs tomorrow at a decent run rate of 5 could have given lead anywhere between 260-270 would have turned the tabel...... then we should go for kill !!!!!with the bowling attack we have especially considering the fact that we have pacers like zaheer, munaf and ishant, spinners like bhajji, veeru and yuvi and moreover the 5th day pitch...... would have been much interesting..... right???????????

obviously you played cricket with your balls and with your hands in your pocket. Have you heard of singles and two runs? But Dravid is too old to run - so he just blocks and puts pressure on the team. They could have worked on taking singles and put pressure on MZ bowlers and fielders

Obviously you have ZERO exp in cricket ... Let me guess , the team is shot out for 305, has about 320 runs deficit, has 2 days to play with 9 wickets ..and you want them to open their arms and hit at 4 runs /over for 570 something runs ? Gee I wonder why this didn't work out in the first inning when the pressure to save the match was way lower.
Did you inherit stupidity or did you have to work hard for it ?

i agree with u, but once we go past today's first session which was very crucial, then i think we should have thought this option as pitch was afresh and ball was coming nicely to bat....!!!! cant we think of this option?????

My take. What you suggested was tried by Sehwag and you saw the result. When the home team scores 600 , the only, realistic result is to go for a draw. And given the team lost its way in 1st inninings, it becomes the only option. The team has a strategy and it keeps the entire series in mind. So imagine a big win in match 1 a great draw in match 2 - it will bring NZ's confience down big and have the opposite effect on the Indian team. They could plan for bigger things in game 3. Just my view..
