Prem Very good Article. I would like to see a note from Mr Sambit Bal and Ehsan Mani who accuse India and BCCI of double standards. Your last point hits the nail in the head. A cricketers business is playing sport and making money. Not make policy decisions. (No Mixing of sports and politics here). A cricketer has a right to be afraid for his safety. Sense in our government prevailed and did not fall into the Bhai Bhai trap and send our cricketers there. It would have been very Horrible consequence.

ITS PROVEN FACT THAT INDIA CAN NOT ATTACK ANY COUNTRY, IT CAN AT THE BEST PROTECT IT AND REPULSE ANY ATTACK.
ONLY CASE WHWN A WAR HAS HAPPENED AFTER 26/11 WAS IF PAKISTAN ATACKED INDIA IN PREEMT FASHION FEARING AN INDIAN ATTACK.

Satya truth is always bitter!You are comparing Sachin's life with 180 people died on 26/11.I am asking you the same question..Was the life of 180 people killed on 26/11 more important than thousands killed during UPA rule over 4years? -Why Shivraj Patil was sticking to his chair all the time. --Why he & fellow congressi like Arjun singh played politics over other terror attack? -Why Govt didnot felt the need to bring stronger terror law? -Why Govt didnot felt the need for special anti-terror agency.
You know why!Because those 180 killed on 26/11 were rich and westerners! How long politicians will fool average indians!Cannot u notice suddenly the anguish and style of talking for average middle class people like us changed after 26/11.India is far to go be become democracy!

The truth is that because of the unfair treatment meted out by PCB to Javed, Dawood decided to kill the infidels travelling in the bus by using Let.
But Hamid Gul will say that Indians did this. The Indians would have actually have had to come by digging a tunnel all the way from India to Lahore to carry out the attack as the Pakistan sea is patrolled very efficiently by The Paki Navy (The Paki Navy chief believes so) and the land and air routes are manned by the super efficient Pakistan army and airforce.
This heinous attack on Sri Lankan cricket team is an attack on cricket spirit. I think this day is not the only black day for Pakistan because there had been many black days before this. The problem with Pakistan is they live in constant mode of denial. Their media exposes the militant attacks on their own soil but when it comes to Kashmir issue, their media becomes patriotic and support that cause. So all in all, you are supporting terrorism either way. Until Pakistani government, ISI, Pakistani Army stop supporting terrorist activities & dismantle the terror infrastructure completely, attacks will keep occurring. Pakistan didn't have a desire nor political will to stop terrorism until now. Now they don't have a capability to stop terrorism even if they want to stop it. The situation has already got out of their control & implementation of Sharia law in Swat valley, possible takeover of Karachi by Taliban are examples of that. Pakistan & its people have to change their mindset for that. Think outside religious boundaries, accept your mistakes & start cleaning terrorists yourself. Pakistan has to help themselves to get them out of the mess they created in order to ruin India. Instead of blaming India for everything, start doing introspection. Otherwise, it would be few years & there will be no Pakistan on world map. That area will be called as Talibanistan & that would be a result of self-destruction & war within. India won't have to do anything in that case. Think about it.
Long time no see! Are you in New York or in Mumbai? Your last paragraph sums it all up. However, I would like to add that when a branch of the Pakistani Government (ISI) promotes terrorism, so how can global community help a terrorist against himself?
The world has to learn very fast that this is a problem beyond terrorism. One can not simply wipe out handful of criminal psychics along with few camps and breathe easy. It can not also relax by paying ransoms to Pakistan and terrorists like US and China and probably few other developed countries doing all along. The world academics have to study resurrection of violence and delineate its roots. Its only a matter of fact that Afghanistan and now Pakistan are seats of current so called "terrorism". The venue may shift to any poor nation easily. One clue to understand the current conflict is to look at the enormous difference in the handful of filthy rich and vast crowds of despairingly poor.
