dude, rediff says "apparently it has excluded..". Read the article if the ICC says anywhere that it has included only pre 1995 guys

Second column is the total number of tests played till 31st Dec 1994, third column onwards is the number of tests won/lost/tied/draw. The number of years tests were played can be known from the first column.
I wonder how we can say that there should be more than 3 Indians in this list. Cricket was played for 108 years. Assuming they decided to honour about 2 cricketeers for every year of tests played, do we any reason to expect more than this number? Did we even have so many Wisden Cricketeers of the Year persons from India, they name 5 cricketeers every year. We had a TOTAL of SEVEN till 1995.
Why is this article bemoaning for something that we have not achieved and have not got the right to ask? If anything, I feel Pakistan and West Indies are under represented. Rediff should have some knowledgeable or hard working people in their ranks not some folks who have no idea what to write.

I agree with your reasoning and am not surprised Rediff and its flunkies are attempting to sensationalize yet another news byte they chanced upon!!
But I do take offence to the exclusion of KS Ranjitsinhji and his nephew. For all their contribution to first class cricket, in terms of technique and accomplishment, it's insulting to not list their names in any list that talks of cricketing greats!

Amchi Marathi - you loghead...dont u see that it is pre-1995 retired players only who are placed in the list!
I think the list is fair. If we were to look at the top 55 cricketeers of all time, 3 is a fair number for those from India. We may have had great personalities, but the net result was that we had won less than half the number of tests than the number of years we played test cricket before 1995. So the three picked is fair, Bishen for being the leader of a set of mesmerising spin wizards, Sunil for showing that India can be a world beater and Kapil for realising that dream. My only crib is Ajit Wadekar being missed out, he was the true pioneer in many respects, but he would be inductee #1 in an Indian hall of fame.
