India not the favorites
by Suman Dasgupta on Jun 12, 2009 05:39 PM  | Hide replies

Defintely SA and SL are the favorites to win the cup. India is trying hard but not clicking in every aspect of the game expecially bowling and fielding ...and Dhoni at No.3

bad news....
by hullabol sachin on Jun 12, 2009 05:35 PM  | Hide replies

there is no way we can win this WT20 championship and retain our title, there is no way we can win the champions trophy either, then reason is none other than mr.lalit modi (india's punter # 1 and america return druggie)
and his IPL2 as its taken a heavy toll on our players and their fitness. viru sehwag is paying a price of being burnt out too early...!! this is a fact with which many will agreee, bloggers please support me on this so that our collective voice makes it to the ears of these corrup officials who only thinmk of themselves and who ahve never caught a ball or a bat in their hands and are unaware of the logistics of the game except for the money aprt...!!

Keep your cool, Pak skipper tells Dhoni
by Anurag Rathore on Jun 12, 2009 05:35 PM  | Hide replies

Pakistan captain Younis Khan has advised his Indian counterpart Mahendra Singh Dhoni to keep his cool and concentrate on the game following his recent run-ins with the media at the Twenty20 World Cup.

"Keep your cool, man," was Younis' message when asked to comment on Dhoni's tussle with the media. Dhoni was upset with the media after it reported a rift between the skipper and his deputy Virender Sehwag.

The situation worsened after Dhoni refused to answer media questions on Sehwag's shoulder injury and his being ruled out of the tournament.

Though the distraction has not affected India's performance at the group league stage, Dhoni and company needs to maintain their cool on the West Indies in the Super Eights.

"I personally believe that nobody comes after you if you are playing well," Younis said on Thursday at a press conference on the eve of his team's Super Eight opener against Sri Lanka at Lord's.

Dhoni need not regret!
by wellwisher on Jun 12, 2009 05:28 PM  | Hide replies

Dhone should never get fussed over media and fanaticism. Performance counts. And Dhone and team India is performing. See Gambhir and Rohit Sharma are showing ample commitment. Sehwag plays irresponsible cricket and creates anxiety among team and Indian cricket lovers. He throws away his wicket at crucial juncture. You cannot be player/region biased here. See Laxman was asked to keep himself in dressing room by Gilchrist in the IPL because he knew Laxman can't perform in the T20 format with the type of batting and fielding focus he has. Ultimately Gilchrist proved right in his decision he could win IPL trophy for DC. Well Dhoni has a strategy which is very tough to perform but there is no other go. Sehwag does not fit it into his scheme of things for the present T20 Cup.

No doubt. Players realize that, so they are trying to give their 100 percent.
It happens like Eng is missing Flintoff. We can't rely on 1 player. I believe India will prove that.

I agree. This is 20-20 in ODI, the problem would have been bigger. In any case, I think India's real problem is its bowling (fast bowling) and fielding

India should use its spin more
by vathula on Jun 12, 2009 05:19 PM

incl. part time spinners. That Andre Fletcher also looks dangerous. I rate this as 50-50. Lets see. You never know. Dhoni is always lucky; Gayle may play an unlucky shot earlier!

SA is not invicible. NZ almost beat them. I believe in the current form India have a very good chance because we have a balanced side. Dhoni is captain cool and ready to change tactics when necessary. He knows what he is doing.
