Results speak of how a TEAM is performing, not the captain. When Aussies were performing, Ponting could be hailed as GOD of captaincy & Now he is trash.
In India, the captain eats away the fruits of TEAM performance. Check out who all performed during Azhar & Ganguly's regime.
Dhobi is using captaincy to elongate his career. Shamelessly putting Raina @ no. 6 & himself coming @ no. 3 I bet if India lose a wicket early, Dhobi will avoid coming at no. 3 coz then he has to face the new ball. But if first wicket falls after say 5-6 overs, he will come at no. 3 Cheap custard.. 'A good team is not as valuable as a good team with a good leader' REALLY?? What are you smoking my friend ? When a bowling change produces results (even if only 10% of times) it gets remembered but in remaining 90% when it doesnt or actually messes up, it wont be as easily noticed. By your own logic Dobhi Should have won IPL 2008 and IPL 2009. But he did not. You are talking crap. It looks like that you actually suffer from inferiority complex and want feel good by promoting an ordinary cricketer like Dohni who resembles you in many ways.

Oh and I had trouble finding something intellectual in your post,which is why i've to frame another reply to answer your question about IPL 08 and 09.Grow up is my only answer.Neither did Ganguly win IPL 08,nor did Gilchrist.And so was the case with But their defeat in these IPLs is NOT the reason they can be counted as bad captains.You miss simple things-there can only be one winner.Be it IPL or WC.Understand? P.S.-If you said Dhoni was a bad captain if he lost IPL 08 or 09,then you must also be thinking Warne was a bad captain?Forget it,that line of thinking is flawed.

Wane won IPL 2008. I do not consider Ganguly the best captain. Ganguly was another overrated captain. Warne and Gilly are among what you call the best captains.

And both Warne and Gilly contributed significantly as a batsman/bowler/fielder(WK) to winning of IPL 2008 and IPL 2009, respectively. That is why they are in my list of best captains.

People here seem to cry hoarse over Dhoni's success over the last couple of years citing foolish reasons like 'good bowling' or 'fortunate' blabla.It appears so sick that people forget the basic aspects of success!..Having big match-winners in your side is only half the battle won.If having match winners was the only consideration,then previous IPL would have been won by DC rather than RR,which was on paper written off by experts as one of the weakest sides!And also,the same people would have called Gilchrist a 'lucky' fellow to just have a nice team!..The truth is,marshalling the resources,even if they are capable of single-handedly snatching victories,is as important as having a good team.A good team is not as valuable as a good team with a good leader.If people ask me how is he a good leader,just remember one thing always.No one is going to read what slangs people use while referring to Dhoni or the abuses they spew.What the experts and the literate will do is see the RESULTS.I prefer following the conventional advice.BCCI gave the responsibility of leading the Indian side o M.S. Dhoni.He has so far not disappointed.I don't mind Dhoni at all till there's no apparent problem with Indian cricket.Jealousy should be tamed,and credit should be given to the deserving without being judgemental.The world cares a rats arse about what insults you come up with against successful men.

Dhoni can be a good base ball player. God knows what shots he plays...those are certainly not cricketing shots....dont compare any one with Sachin..Sachin is all time greatest...
