All of us are only 'openers' with our girl friends. Why must Dhoni be different?

I can't stop laughing, he says he is doing EXPERIMENT !!! at world cup….what was he doing from past 1 year, against Australia (two 2020) against NZ (two 2020), in IPL (15 he played and he was Capitan of CSK and 2 warm-ups), INDIA was very very lucky against Bangladesh that Yuvi clicked else Dhoni lost the game for INDIA…

He will onlyy come at Nuber 3 when the situation is good, just few runs required to win, or pitch is easy for batsmen... to improve his average... too smart... hmm

Sriniwas you better try and play. Let us see , how many balls you face and remain not out. It is not too far behind in one day matches when our team was 4-5 wicket down and requiring 20-30 odd runs to win, but there was a sudden collapse and India lost on 90% occasions.guys like you have very short memory and cricketing acumen.

Mepula, get your basics right and your screw tightened. Remaining not is is not any one's fault. Rather it is a strong point of a batsmen. Also for every other batsmen average is calculated the same way it is for Dhoni.

Learn to appreciate good things and give good suggestions for people to improve. Don't be saddist and envious of any good achievement which you could not dream of in your life.

Lets appreciate his achievements in IPL (not even scored 50% of D Kartik)!!!
Lets appreciate his last 50 innings in all formats (T20, 5050 and Test match) didn’t made any major contribution towards wining cause
Lets appreciate what he did against Shewag!!!

Dhoni is no. 1 in ICC because of others, Contributions from SHEWAG, RAINA, IRFAN BROS, ROHIT, BAJJI, ZAHEER made INDIA to win from past 2 to 3 years and ICC gives points to wining captain fortunate to Dhoni being INDIAN captain

by bull schitt on Jun 12, 2009 09:46 AM  | Hide replies

dhoni is right. he wont bat at no 3 always.
when the situation is very good and an easy victory is possible, he will come at no 3 and increase his average and claim credit for victory.
when its a difficult situation and the opposition bowling is very good he will send in others to bat before him so that even if we lose he can blame it on others.

Correct, very correct,he is number#1 in ODI because of cleverly managed his batting order, when it is good to bat and no pressure he comes up the order and remains not out and under pressure he comes down the order and remains not out just taking 1s and 2s. Just simple selfish guy!!!!

Why r u guys so jealous of him ??
He was the one who promoted youngsters at the cost of ganguly, sachin and dravid. He changed his game completely to sheild inexperienced batters. Now he is branded selfish. Dhoni is known to hit six as the winning hit. If he was so worried about average he would have taken singles and not hit those sixes to finish the matches.

There is always another side to the coin.

You can look at MS Dhoni batting at No.3 in some matches as a clever way to increase in his personal batting average.

But one can also fathom deep. Agreed, he is not in good form of late. But he is the captain. In the past we have had captains who would like to hide behind the performances of the rest of the team and gloat over the team's victory. We have even had captains reporting sick if provided with a difficult pitch to play on. But here is a guy who ventures to take the task head on, try to play his way out of a bad patch. To his credit, it must be admitted that he did succeed with this move in a couple of matches in IPL-2009.

So long as the obvious intention (though we Indians cannot get over our habit of suspecting every good intention and give our own fancy interpretation by trying to read the non existent space between the lines) is to try and ensure the match readiness of every important player of the team before any crunch situation develops, I welcome it.

Go on Dhoni, you are the one responsible for the results of the matches your team plays, not us the armchair pundits!

Wishing you all the very best.

I think most people understand Dhoni intention to be no.1.He is selfish guy and want to remain not out to put blame on others i saved one side but others lost the plot. Moreover Orient expressed that we all the time looked thing in fishy way.I understand that but what you will say when Harsha Bhogle pointed out that i dont what the hell pormpt Dhoni to come at No.1 when raina is there and then also he looks for secutity of chipping singles and twos not playing flambouyany shot as he earlier do.Its 20-20 dear if you wanna take some one place in order do what that person is capable of.By doing singles and two he let bowlers get back confidence best example look at bangladesh match.

I have great respect for Harsha Bhogle as a cricket commentator. He is nothing more than that. He was associated with (who knows in what capacity) Mumbai Indians in IPL and the world knows what MI have achieved in the two years of IPL!

It doesn't require a Harsha Bhogle or Sunil Gavaskar or Ian Chappel to find fault with Dhoni for coming in to bat at No.3. Any man on the street, like me, can make such comments.

As stated by me in my earlier post above, it requires greater wisdom to appreciate the approach of Dhoni to take challenges head on and try to come good while going through a bad patch (as a batsman only, fortunately for Team India - he is still a formidable captain as for leadership is concerned). If he chooses to remain in bad batting form and let down the team in any crunch situation (god forbid, if some or all of the celebrated top order of Rohit, Gambhir, Raina and Yuvi fail), that is when there will be justification for any criticism (for Dhoni not making efforts by batting in less important matches to gain form).

If we think impartially, we can see the truth. If our vision is clouded, simple facts become unfathomable!

by gudguy on Jun 12, 2009 09:23 AM  | Hide replies

DHONI got these many matches win only because of others performances, in TEST matches Sachin, Dravid, VVS and in 2020 and 5050 its great players like Yuvi, Shewag, Raina, Rohiit, Bajji, Zaheer, RP, Ghamber who made matches win for INDIA fortunately Dhoni being the captain of the side made him get name and fame!! But the contribution wasn’t much from Dhoni
