The real Indian problem
by vathula on Jun 11, 2009 02:52 PM  | Hide replies

Indian batting is good enough to score 160 against all oppositions in most situations. Too much focus is on batting while the real problem for India is bowling (fast bowling) and fielding. How will our bowlers fare when some big hitters like Gayle, etc., shine.
We saw this in IPL.
Delhi Daredevis was the best team till one Gilchrist innings

Thats why Dhoni is playing with 6-5 combination which we missed in NZ tour.

I think till now Indian bowlers did well against NZ, Pak, Ban and IRL.

Dhoni at No-3
by Murali on Jun 11, 2009 02:48 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni is a failure at No-3 even at IPL Chennai super kings team. He is able to score run a ball which is not suitable for T-20 cricket. Now super 8 is starting and wasting even a single ball would find the team in disaster. Dhoni should come after Irfan pathan i.e No-7 so that he can be useful to bat with tailenders and hit some useful runs but also see the team utilise all the 20 overs if India bats first. If irfan is not playing then Dhoni can bat at No-6 followed by Harbhajan and Zaheer who can hit the balls all round while Dhoni can take singles to rotate the strike.

I totally agree with you,...even he come after Bajji or even Zaheer, he can bat and hit some 4's and 6's with Ohja and Ishant, if at all required

what ever, if he has problem with all the player we are least bothered, he should do the job first!!! get the cup back!! we all know he had problems with Shewag and made him out of the team, he can't do any more to any one or else he will be out of the team

I think Dhoni is not sound enough technically to be a no 3 batsman, He can do good at this position as a pinch hitter but not a regular no.3. Dravid is a class act and lot of people rate his defence as the best in the game. I think one should remain one what is . Dravid is Dravid and Dhoni should be Dhoni!!

Hello Prasad

T 20 is not the Test match where we need an anchor like dravid T-20 is all about utilising all deliveries for getting runs and Fours and Sixers at brisk rate. No-3 position is crucial on this context and if dhoni persisits with this kind of approach at No-3 then we will see India out of T-20 Wc soon

irfan & bhajji

with the current team composition, I believe you have to make a choice between irfan & bhajji to rest to select any player from outside. the other guys are doing pretty well...

Dont forget Irfan is the only one genuine allrounder we have. But still he should improve his bowling skills.
