Srikkanth will select the following team. Dhoni has to accept this; no choice.
3 openers Sehwag Sachin Gambhir
2 middle order batsmen Raina Dravid
2 finishers Yuvraj Yusuf
2 Wicket keepers- both can bat Dhoni Karthik
2 spinners Harbhajan Ojha
4 pacers Ishanth RP Singh P Kumar Nehra
Can anybody argue against this? There is no regionalism absolutely. Each player selects himself. Why crciticize Srikkanth so much? If such a team is selected then the only thing that one can argue is that there are too many batsmen, but then Dhoni's stratgey is to play 7 batsmen, isnt it?
Personally, I don't know who I will drop? May be one batsman from the 3 namely: Yusuf or Raina or Dravid. Then replace with a bowling allrounder, but then who do we have? Neither Irfan nor Jadeja belong here. Abishek is untested still. All 3 can bat better than they bowl. One can be tempted to play Munaf Patel- but then though his bowling is goood, he is useless in fielding and batting.

Perhaps you are missing Zaheer Khan who is close to regaining full fitness & is also in the probables.

No one can argue, excellent selection ... if a 5th bowler is required drop Raina who I initially thought to be a very good batsman but he has been exposed in the latest T20 ... no technique against the short stuff.

Excellent selection........but 1 change.........Zaheer khan instead of either Ishant or Pravin kumar
where is mohd kaif...he is the brilliant fielder than all above 30 players...fielding also very very important in one day format....if he score 20 atleast he can save 30 runs plus...

what if the batsmen don't hit too many times in Kaif's direction. Also you are 10 years late... were you in a coma all this while ? Virtually everyone in the team can field as good if not better than KAIF.
If Kaif wants to prove himself, maybe he should try to play in Eng / Aus county cricket and prove his abilities there than on batsmen friendly pitches and Club level Bowlers in India

Listen Dumbo, Dravid is a class player and India batting has looked very shaky in the last 2 outings - India needs look to do well and selecting Dravid is the right step.
-- Irfan could have been there. He is a better allrounder than Abhisek Nayar, Ravindra Jadeja. He is a better bowler than Pankaj Singh. Pankaj sing perform pathetically in both IPL. How he is there in team 30. --
Dravid and SRT (along with laxman and Sehwag) have demonstrated time and again that they can play world class pace and spin equally well.
Gambhir, Raina, Sharma and all others have al ong way to go before they can be even compared to a Dravid. They might show an occasional glimse of talent but cannot live upto it consistently. These palyers will do well on flat Indian pitches but when they face chin music they will be a failure...
Having said that, some of them youngsters can be nutured into good players. Playing alongside these greats of Indian cricket will only make them better.
