BCCI should appeal againt the ban,by highlighting Matthews injury & other factors atleast to reduce the ban into a financial penalty or say a maximum of 1 match ban can be tolerated. Surely BCCI should not keep quiet. CS Jawalkar
Upper one represent Yusuf Pathan & lower one represent Jadeja's figures. Which one is better?
According to me, a bowler who concedes 55 runs and take 1 wicket is much better than a bowler who give 50 runs without taking a wicket.
jadeja's bowling average is 71 whereas Yusuf pathan bowling average is 37. A bowler shud take wickets if he wants his team to win the match. In this aspect jadeja is far behind Yusuf Pathan.
1 more thing, Jadeja is not a kind of batsman who can put pressure on the opposition team through his batting. As a number 7 batsman, jadeja's strike rate is just 75 whereas at 7th number, Yusuf pathan's batting strike rate is 98.

I would prefer player like Uthappa at no 7 who can bat sensibly too...he would bowl like yusuf and jadeja..

new bowlers can be tried instead of the usual Bhaji/Praveen etc. VVS Laxman looked like Jonty Rhodes when compared to Zaheer yesterday
Fast bowler Ishant Sharma and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik have been included in India's squad for the third and fourth ODIs against Sri Lanka. The changes have been made after Sreesanth contracted swine flu and MS Dhoni was banned for two ODIs because of a slow over-rate in Nagpur.
Karthik is likely to take Dhoni's place in the XI for the matches in Cuttack and Kolkata while Virender Sehwag will lead the side. Yuvraj Singh, who missed the first two ODIs, because of a finger injury and illness, has been retained in the team.

Nehra? Even after his 'impressive' fielding attitude.
Jadeja? A match loser. I dont know how he is better than Irfan Pathan, who was in the top 10 allrounders ranking until he was in the squad.
Ojha? He cant even spin. He is ok in test with his accuracy. But he is not even used/usable in the ODI, So y still hav him.
Irfan should hav been in the squad. Does the selectors dont feel like missing an allrounder.

U R right Sadhu if india need to dismiss dilshan they have to bowl throw AK 47
can BCCI appeal against this ban? unfair to indian players....in the first ODI srilankans took more time to complete 50 overs.....they are not even fined or the numbers of overs for them was not reduced surprisingly....unfair refeeres.......obvious discrimination.....action should be taken against match referee and dhoni should be allowed to continue....isnt?

There is a rule isnt it ?. And dhoni knew about it. Well this is one chance to learn and also get a break from cricket. Not too bad.

Muthusami:
Conclusion- The whole world is against India. Till now we were hearing that ICC is racist. Now that you've proved that they favour Sri Lanka, its clear that no one favours India. Wonder why? :) :)

I think D.Kartik, S.Badrinath & Irfan Pathan are constant losers. There shall be no improvement in their Cricket, and they have been given quite fair chance to prove their worth. Otherwise your team is good. The selectors should find some new faces.

why not Rohit Sharma instead of Manish Pandey and Parthiv Patel instead of Dinesh Kartik.
Re: Re: Possible Squad for next 3 ODI's

Rohit Sharma hav been given too many chances. He is a good Stroke player. but he has not made use of chances given to him. He has recently scored 300 but he has to make way to try out Consistent Youngsters like Manish Pandey. There is no harm in atleast given a chance to Pandey who is also doing well.

see, Dhoni is a rich man, so even it they fine him it wont make any difference. Ponting is a beggar, so match fee deduction for him will make hin cry as always :)
Re: Re: White Skin v/s Coloured

The Due factor and injury to Mathews should also be counted. If these are counted the actual delay would be lesser. The second point is that there was no proble of visibility as it was Day-night match. The third point is why the ban imposed for 2 matches of current series. If I assume that the decision of Refree is fair then also why impose the ban in current series. If the conscience of the Refree was fair it should have been 1 match immediate ban and one shall be taken in the upcoming Series. Don't you think something wrong?

Ravi
In a nutshell, punish all Australians and let go all Indians even if they slap people, abuse people or deliberately halt the progress of the game. :) Too good. :)

In theory punish all aussies sounds damn good. But since ICC reports to aus and you report to aus as well, that would be difficult to implement. dont you think ?. :>)

AP, take it easy. Sri lankans can never be white like your masters. No way. So dont feel threatened. :>)
Re: White Skin v/s Coloured

It is not in favour of Sri Lanka. The real beneficiary are definitely Australia or South Africa so that 'Whites' will rule the ODI either by hook or crook.
