selectors are buch of jokers
by Sameer on Dec 09, 2009 11:40 PM  | Hide replies

I am sad but not too much disappoinmented because win-lost can happen in the game. but I am very much angry on bunch of jokers (srikant and com). everybody know that they dropped pathan/rohit because of their form, even in current on going series both have not performed at all. suresh raina flop in aus one day series and he has not performed in ranji matches also.. dinda and other who are new has not performed that much well.. still all get a chance, if you see current ranji season, there are other youngster who really performed well
pujara = 460 runs in 6 innings
badri = 462 runs in 5 inn
s. dhavan = 350 runs in 3 inn
p. patel = 567 runs in 9 inn (better than d. karthik)
vinay kumar = 33 wink in 5 match
vs malik = 30 wink in 6 match

pathan, raina, rohit, karthik, dinda all are missing in first top 20 bowling/battings.. still they got a chance to play internation match which others who are really performed well does not get a chance.. so main culprit are indian selectors who just want to rotate these players only..

Most of these performances are in first class matches. ODI and T20 selection does not need to be based on that. Badri and Pujara will be regulars in the Test team in future, Badri is already in the team. For T20, the performance in the past T20 games were given more weightage. It takes some time for team to settle. Bowling and fielding needs to improve. Chasing 215 in 20 overs is not easy.

if this is the case then why they dropped pathan/rohit last time, they should gave them chance instead of dropping them, at that time they saied let them perform in domestic matches and then then can be candidate for selection.. if u need internation exp then in this season dravid/jafar/robin uthapa/m vijay/p.patel all performed very well compare to these junk people, why they are not selected... which based they selected dinda who has not performed/does not have internation exp. instead of him there are other bowlers who took more than 30 wik. now these people will think if we don't perform in domestic matches and just play one big inn. just before any tournament and their place is secure in the team.. just see Aus/SA - once any players dropped after that if he will get chance only after performing in domestic matches..

Dhoni: Not suited for T20 international matches
by gaurav manchanda on Dec 09, 2009 11:35 PM  | Hide replies

In 2009, Dhoni has played 9 T20 International matches and scored just 138 runs. His average is 15.2 and strike rate is 89.

if we remove the runs dhoni has scored against weak sides like Bangladesh, Ireland then his total runs in 2009 becomes 98 (7 innings), average becomes 14 and strike rate is 80. On the basis of these figures, dhoni DOES NOT DESERVE a place in the Indian T20 international team, but unfortunately he is captaining the side.

Whether it is Tests, ODIs or T20, Dhoni should bat only at No.7, unless it is for a tactical purpose. That will provide depth to team's batting and have better results.

BEST INDIAN TEAM:
by rahul bajaaj on Dec 09, 2009 11:34 PM

The best Indian team for 20-20’s & ODI’s in the sub continental pitches:
1.      Gautham Gambhir.
2.      Virender Sehwag.
3.      Suresh Raina.
4.      Yusuf Pathan.
5.      Yuvraj Singh.
6.      Dhoni or Parthiv Patel.
7.      Ravindra Jadeja.
8.      Ojha or Harbhajan Singh.
9.      Ashish Nehra or Zaheer Khan.
10.      Praveen Kumar.
11.      Sreesanth or Ishanth Sharma .

Outside Indian pitches, we need Dravid, Tendulkar instead of Dhoni & Yusuf Pathan. This is the best talent presently available in India. If this team is selected we can win most of our matches.

Dhoni at No.3 again
by Jay on Dec 09, 2009 11:32 PM  | Hide replies

Why is it again and again happening? I think commercial houses exert pressure and make him bat at No.3. There is no reason for him to do that, whenever he did that India and CSK have suffered. There is no reason why he should go ahead of Yuvaraj/Yusuf/Raina/Rohit and try to play at a rate less than what one sees in a Test Match nowadays.

Mr.Jay,
True. India's defeat in the past 10 months in 20-20's is due to the elevation of Dhoni as No-3. He is repeating the same mistakes.
Dhoni, does not always need to score to prove his position as a captain in the team. Unless he realises this soon, Dhoni will be out of the team.
But, still Dhoni is by far the best captain, India has seen.

I dont know why many of you are picking on Dhoni. His average in 20/20 is higher than Gambhir, Sewag, Youvaraj etc. Yes, his strike rate is lower.
here is Dhnis record: Ag 34.67 with strike rate of 127, Compare this with Yuvaraj : Avg- 27 stk rate 137. In fact Dhonis avg is higher than all other major players. The weakest player in this 20/20 selection is Dinda- there is no justification for including him , clearly this is a sop for the east Zone. His record is inferior to just about all major bowlers.

100% fixing.
by vinay on Dec 09, 2009 11:23 PM  | Hide replies

100% fixing. theres no doubt abt it now. once agian its proved that ckt is a tamasha show.

so many catches dropped. at least 7-8 catches in all. dropped by the best fielders like yuv -2, sehwag-1, ishant-2, ojha-1.

so simple catches dropped by likes of yuv implies that itwas really a gift of ind to lankans to score above 200 runs. even misfields like that of yusuf.

just pack up the discussion n ignore such matches. its really painful.

dhoni overestimates himself...he was the sole reason of defeat today...why the hell he need to promote himself...first he wasted useful deliveries and caused pressure on gambhir...then he threw his wicket...time for team to call back dravid bcoz our new crop of pathan, rohit, jadeja, virat is a failure...

How many chances did Jadeja, yusuf Pathan got up in the order to be termed as failures???????

If Yusuf pathan is sent at No-4 or 5 in 20-20's & ODI's ahead of Yuvraj Singh, Dhoni etc. and Suresh Raina at No-3, we can win most number of matches.
Ravindra Jadeja's bowling/Fielding, Praveen Kumar's Bowling will definitely win more matches for india.

Rahul, you typically tend to write senseless stuff in most of your comments. And you talk and preach against regionalism when people comment against your beloved Dhoni :)

Here you are calling Faseeh a 'Terrorist' and accussing him of 'Pakistani mentality'. And for what crime? Just because Faseeh RIGHTLY commented against this comment "yusuf with his beard looks like a talibani...i am ashamed as an indian to have this terrorist in the team."

So you seem to be okay about people calling an Indian cricket player a 'terrorist' just because he has a beard (and ofcourse the unstate fact that Yusuf is a muslim), but you get all worked up and label Faseeh a 'terrorist' and ask him to get out of India due to his 'Pakistani mentality'...

And you pacakge your self as anti 'regionalistic' and preach to me when I criticize Dhoni throgh logical non-abusive cultured comments(without calling him names).
