Agarkar
by LG on Dec 09, 2009 10:04 PM  | Hide replies

if Agarkar has been handled properly he would have been our best bowler after Kapil.

I agree with Forrest Gump that he should be brought back

Agarkar is indian Mis-bah ul haq ...
He plays as 12th man of the opposite team ... Team India suffered at his hands for sometime and now it's KKR ... AWESOME ...

Agreed whole heartedly..and im not marati..some people esp. from UP think that if someone supports Agarkar he is automatically marati...Agarkar gave his all for Indian cricket...291 wickets in 188 ODIs...he scored a hundred in Ranji trophy recently...he can be the ideal all rounder if used well...he can certainly bowl better than the praveen kumars, rp singhs and ishant sharmas....he still has pace in his bowling.

rightly said..Agarkar can fit in well in 20-20 team. Though certainly not the best after kapil.. But yes he is a good all rounder for shorter format

I think either Badrinath or M Vijay should take his place.

Yes, Badrinath should be given a chance to prove himself in test. Yuvraj is not needed in longest format of the game.

Reason for todays loss
by sajan on Dec 09, 2009 09:53 PM  | Hide replies

1.Wasting yousuf
2.Dhoni promoting himself to no.3
3.holding back raina
4.bringing ojha whn left hander on strike

Dhoni use simple cricketing brain dont try to be hero..try to be a good cricketer and captain.

Yousuf should have sent at no.3..take some lessons from shane how he uses his resources..

try to be a good manager...and by the way dont bring your chamchas for next match

The importance of Ajit Agarkar
by Forrest Gump on Dec 09, 2009 09:53 PM  | Hide replies

Without Agarkar, Mumbai team is struggling in Ranji trophy. Without Agarkar, Indian team has been struggling in ODIs and then in 20-20s...for the shorter format of the game, Agarkar should be recalled...at 32, with his wily ways and experience, he can still bowl better than most of the current bowlers...and his late order hitting can be utilized well in ODIs and tests...recently he scored a hundred in the Ranjis so he is in good rhythm...right time to call him back!!!!!

During the same period, India lost an away series to SL. And when India won a series to be world's no.1 in test cricket, he scored two tons and avgd. 108.25! Btw Australia's home series loss to SA also contributed to India's rise in test cricket. Now we aren't even sure who will be the no.1 team in the world after the English-SA series in SA.

sachin doesn't need to be like anyone...its only others who will always aspire to be sachin. Sehwag himself, undoubtedly a great player...idolizes sachin.

Too much cricket (Period).
by Ramesh Kapoor on Dec 09, 2009 09:43 PM  | Hide replies

It appears that the Law of Diminishing Returns does operate even in Cricket. Too much of one thing is bad, so why lament about the loss. Now blame the bowlers et al, when it was the selectors who messed up the selection.

It would have been a better choice to bring in new faces from IPL than playing the weaklings that underperformed.
