When Sachin, Dravid and Laxman retire????
by varun on Dec 07, 2009 02:47 PM

When Sachin, Dravid and Laxman retire, Inida will become a considerably weak team, and these guys are definitely going to retire after the world cup and all of them at once. It is impossible for any one to fill in those shoes

And needless to say Dhoni would get Sachin, Laxman, Dravid out of the team as well. He will use Harbhajan to get them to opt out, and since bhajji is so willingly doing Dhoni's dirty work, bhajji will make life miserable for the other seniors. However, once bhajji gets the other seniors to quit, Dhoni would quickly remove bhajji to then become the true lord of the ring!

Unfortunately for India, by then the team would be at the bottom of the ICC rankings, somewhere alongside Ireland and Zimbabwe!

i think y've reading too many exotic conspiracy theories. i shudder to think what wud have happened if Dhoni actually had a mind like yours. Ur the perfect case of zonal zenophobia. Last i heard, India was still one country and not the south only. Btw, i'm not a north indian.

Dont worry Kaustav, what you are exhibiting is normal 'Indian' behavior. With one success we lose sight of everything else, and let lots of nonsense slide by, then WITHIN one year, when this team boils with resentment over Dhoni and Bhajji's politicking and players lose focus, and start chamchagiri as a means to continue in the team, we will be closer to the bottom of the rankings table.

That day, you and other herd of sheep will come out and start speaking up. Problem is even when that happens, guys like you will be calling names and accussing Dhoni of every crime possible - deserved or not! So we Indians swing between 2 extremes with no room for rational thought.

Not that we are all drunk on this test series victory IN India, we are burying our head in the sand!

Talking of Zonal Xenophobia, Ganguly was one captain who really did not exhibit any zonal xenophobia...and players like Sehwag respect him for grooming them and encouraging them - FOR THE TALENT THEY HAVE, NOT WHERE THEY COME FROM.

This Dhoni will ruin this team. Mark my words, and check back in one year from now!!

Now gow back to sleep.

You mean after Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar, all those erstwhile Biharis have been genetically re-engineered into different individuals?

India Team No.1
by Guest on Dec 07, 2009 12:08 PM

It is remarkable that India achieved the No.1 position considering the number of quality opponents around. My congrats to team India on its well deserved win against Sri Lanka.

Atlast we have a thinking and performing captain in Dhoni. The track record of Dhoni as Captain is enviable. In him we find the killer instinct that is necessary for victory.

He is modest in saying that staying on top like Aussies is not that easy and his team members should be sober and not carried away with this victory. The team has gelled together nicely and it should keep up the tempo to ensure that attaining No.1 position is no flash in the pan.

With Virendra 'Destroyer' Sehwag in full combat mode it is going to be very tough for other teams to beat India.

Long live the Victory.
