Short Pitched Stuff - Vulnerability
by aman malhotra on Aug 16, 2009 03:50 PM  | Hide replies

Shot pitch bowling - BCCI guys are at fault!!! - This shortcoming might prevent us from becoming the top team in the world.

...Do you need a law passed by the parliament to start making fast bouncy tracks...if you earn so much through events like IPL,why dont you invest it in INFRASTRUCTURE !!!...WHAT IS THE REASON....Look,distributing more money in the form of salaries of players is not the way out...invest in areas where there is known vulnerability...i thought ICC World Cup should have been a good eye opener for you

And Why Should we prepare bouncy pitches?
Have u ever heard Australia and England, New zealand etc to prepare spin friendly/ batting pitches so that they can perform better in Indian Subcontinent?

Dude...two wrongs does not make a right...

Use your brains..wouldnt that help???...and anyways why do we need to wait or take inspiration from what the Aussies, englishmen, new zealand etc do and then follow them...We got brains right !!!

Right so don't u think we should make more batsman friendly pitches especially when ODIs are turning into Wham-Bham matches?

Having said that..we can always make bouncy pitches to practice but not to throw away the home advantage...What say?

gambhir sr 84 avg 37.5
y pathan sr 102 avg 26.7
d karthik sr 74 avg 28.6
s raina sr 86 avg 35.4
rohit sh sr 72 avg 24.8
yuvraj sr 89 avg 37.7
sehvag sr 102 avg 34.3
otherside...........
sachin sr 85 avg 44.3
gaguli sr 74 avg 41
dravid sr 71 avg 39.4
now u compare every one don't post comments illogically. all new players played less numbers of matches. maintaining avg and sr for long time is very very difficult otherwise sr and avg for dhoni initially were 140 and 60 but now 90 and 50.But our senior have shown consistency. Give them respect,

indian selection made a mistake
by ramrahim on Aug 16, 2009 03:39 PM  | Hide replies

I think the selection made a blunder with the above selection. But anyway we need to concentrate on the selected 15 and plan accordingly. Batting weightage is more than the bowlers... Only R.P.Singh can be trusted, rest pace bowlers can be a HIT(SUCCESS) or can be hit(FAILURE)... but lets see how they perform. Good luck to the team...

Young Blood should be given more chances
by sixto dsilva on Aug 16, 2009 03:34 PM  | Hide replies

I think we want to build a new team for future , you should give the young blood new chances so that they can excel in whatever opportunity,Young talent should be pumped along with old lot then only Indian can emerage as a super power in world of cricket. I think Dravid should not have given a chance since he have taken a sabbatical from the one day's.Ashish Nehra , i am not sure about this guy, he is like a flip-flop , sometimes he is good and othe time he looks like a ordinary blower , he should show some consistency inorder to be included in playing 11. Again they have missed Irfan , not sure why they are doing this to young and emeraging talent. I think they should give him some proper guidance , he can definitely excel , he is fine and excellent , i can say fantastic blower.
Hope this team can do well in Sri Lanka and champions trophy.
As rightly said Dravid inclusion may be step backward and will not help the future of Indian Cricket.
BCCI is not doing enough to allow this game to grow in rural area's. there is tremendous opportunity in Rural India, BCCI have to spend some money inorder to bring best talent in this sport.
I not sure whether selectors are again biased in selecting the people from only certain region , if this is the case then it is mere ridiculous and should be stopped at any cost.
Government is also not doing enough to stop this non-sense.
They are lot of young talents like sachin Tendular in India but are not given enough opportunity to shine.

ok. but the socalled young bloods hvnt outclassed players like dravid. they hv shown their class (?) on the bouncy pitches.

what u think of young blood rohit who was given so many chances but not performing consistently. rohit showed his class in not playing on good tracks.

by vijay paul on Aug 16, 2009 03:33 PM

Robin and irfan were given lot of chances. They r out of form.Dravid adds stability to the middle order which seemed vulnerable in the windies. Dinesh karthik was a surprise wen u had virat kohli in such gud form.
