even after playing so many matches. irfan still has not been able to prove his credentials consistently. he is afraid of getting hit and in the process does not swing the ball.

Saeed Anwar's world record of 194 is equalled!
by naveen dhanerwal on Aug 16, 2009 04:43 PM

Coventry, the Zimbabwean batsman equalled the world record of 194. He could break the record but because of other batsman's stupidity and his own he couldn't. He was on 191 ans was on strike in the last over. Still he could make only 3 runs. He took a single on the first ball, then the striker got bowled, Utesya, the nest batsman who should have taken a single, hit a four and then they took two (I wonder why the hell they took two?) and finally a single on the fifth ball. He needed 3 runs on the last ball but could make only two off it.
F**k! He should blame himslef for not making a world record and that utesya, the captain too is responsible for this. Why didn't he take a single?
Poor Coventry! Bravo Coventry!

Best team

Selectors should be congratulated for selecting a best team- a balanced one- except perhaps may be for Yusuf Pathan who could have been dropped for any other talented youngster.

welcome to rahul dravid, he is the only player known who believes that one day and 20-20 matches can be drawn. Looking forward for your test match batting again in one day matches....

How can we ask Dravid to prove himself? He already proved what he is. Success and failures are part of life and career. All the best to Rahul.

Only 15 are to be selected hence it is inevitable that a few talented youngsters have to wait. But I definitely agree that they should have included Virat in place of Yusuf Pathan who like goat chews chewing gum whole day in the field but scores once in 20 matches. Virat is definitely bats, bowls & most importently fieleds well.

u r right. there are better players waiting for a chance. He clicked in the initial matches of 20/20 but became erratic later. in 1 dayers, he was a disappointment. Alternatively, his brother caould be a better choice

team selection
by syed kalim on Aug 16, 2009 03:54 PM  | Hide replies

very very disappointing. Again the same old story. Due respects to stalwarts like sachin, dravid, its time for them to say bye to 1 dayers and 20/20. Let them play tests in which they can accumulate some more runs and break some more records which are of no significance to Indian crocket. But let them give the youngers a chance. The selectors should also remember this

Test matches are significant. But not the personal records which do not matter now when we want to build a younger team. Sachin is no doubt one of the greatest players India has produced. A legend but does that help Indian cricket in the long run? No unless he devotes his time for team building (from outside)

Are you a crazy dud who does not know C of Cricket... The team has been selected keeping in mind the susceptibility to the short deliveries for which your young brigade does not have any answer to...
You are further proving that you are a buffoon by stating that test cricket is insignificant... Go and get your facts clear mate.. In short.. Go, get a life..

You have not learnt lesson from Twenty20 WC. With only youngsters and most of them inexperienced in the team India was humiliated. On the otherhand seniors in Pak team made their team to win the championship.

Seniors? Like Dravid! offer Dravid to Pakistan or even bangladesh and then see if they want him.
