no cricketer or a sports man can be bigger or greater then sachin,i still remember people shutting off their tv once sachin used to get out, it will never happen to anybody

sachin is not god, only indian are too crazy about cricket , thats why they do like that, and remember cricket was on peak at the time of sachin, and no other player was performing well that time , so sachin got importance , otherwise he is a like other player , and i guess so many player are there , which are better then sachin but dont get more time like sachin

not only indians but the whole world says he is the master blaster. i guess the whole worls is not fool. u told cricket was on peak at the time of sachin and no other players were performing well so it is obvious he got importance from the people. he is a match winner and he has won many matches for india. his records are enough to say that.
no cricketer or a sports man can bigger or greater then sachin,i still remenger people shutting off their tv once sachin used to get out it will never happen to anybody
Of-course, Ponting is much much more superior than Sachin. If his country and his health permits, he will not only break all batting records of Sachin but also create more records which will be difficult to beat in the near future.
Re: PONTING
by Sudesh Banare on Aug 04, 2009 11:20 AM
Ponting is by no means close to as good as Sachin simply that ponting is still poor against spinners and his been harbhjan's bunny all time. Moreover Sachin has been brilliant in Australia against Australia who had the best bowlers of all time to play against. On the other hand Ponting has been poor in India against India as he dosnt combat spin bowling attack. Tendulkar has been good three dimensionally in all pitch conditions and there is no doubt about his performance against Australia who were the far by the best team during his era....

Nobody is perfect. Please compare the test matches played by Sachin and Ponting. Thus you can conclude who is better.

You've gotta be kidding me.. lets look at the facts here.. Ponting has about 37 centuries in Tests.. and 26 in one dayers.. compared to Sachin's 40 plus in both forms of the game.. he has scored a hundred every 10 ODI's.. Ponting is around 33 years of age.. what makes Sachin so great is that he has excelled in both major forms of the game.. and though his test record can be broken.. I don't see anyone coming close to his ODI record..
Re: PONTING
by Sudesh Banare on Aug 04, 2009 11:24 AM
Ponting will never beat Sachin in tests...forget about one dayers....that will be like a day dreaming for him. Sachin great in Australian pitches and Ponting being a scape goat on Indian Pitches shows that..
The title is deliberately misleading. Border just called Ponting the second best Australian batsman and it seems fair enough.
As far as being the best batsman of this generation goes, Sachin, for all his genius is still not the one. For his audacity, flair and execution it has to be Lara and now that Lara is no longer playing, it has to be Viru.

Atleast somebody on this forum read the commetns correctly. Greg Chappel was much much better batsman than Ricky.
I would personally state that Sehwag and Dhoni, are better players than Sachin. Sehwag has scored 2 triple hundreds in test and his batting turns the game from draw to victory.
Re: Sehwag and Dhoni
by BIJIT CHAKRABORTY on Aug 04, 2009 11:31 AM
what has dhoni done with his batting by which he comes nearer to the sachin tendulkar. dhoni is a crap in himself.he cannot even come nearer to sourav ganguly.

Dhoni?? I have respect for him as a captain..but as a batsman, he is not even close to Suresh Raina, forget about coming near to Sachin
Re: Sehwag and Dhoni
by iranna kalyani on Aug 04, 2009 11:13 AM
only sehwag comes nearer to sachin or u can say he is just one step below sachin ..
but dhoni is no way nearer to sachin he is 10000 steps below sachin...dhobhi does not even figures in the top 30 batsmans ever in indian cricket history

Why to blame Dhoni, as he has not claimed to be best or at par with Sachin, so donot get emotional. Moreover, none Indian cricket sofar is comparable to Sachin for that matter.

Vague and irrational statement....... Whatever runs a batsman scores, gets added to team score...also, i don't recall any ocassion when the batting of Tendulkar led to an Indian defeat or his slow batting doomed India to a draw when they were set for a win...if you have such examples, do enlighten us but pls don't make illiterate and tame comments...such comments are laughable and ludicruous to say the least!!

Bhasmasur Rakshas is absolutely right .. and hitler is wrong hence he couldn't substantiated his accusations .. next time think well and then try again .. gud luck

Abey dhakkan, atleast he helped India reach the finals. Had it not been for his efforts, India would not have made to finals.

i fully agree...with u.. its shame some indians inspite of getting behind sachin are getting behind ponting. U ask ponting who's great and he knows the answer...

He didnt just play as a team member, he is also the captain and thereby leading from the front. Its is difficult because of pressure of thinking for the team at the same time.

Sunil Gavaskar is the best opening batsman (Test) ever played against the highest quality of Fast Bowlers. Ask any International cricketer they'll tell you.
