Dhoni...
by lutiya doobi on Apr 19, 2009 08:40 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni is a great captain who just had a bad day yesterday. This IPL, because it is SA, will not be dominated by the bat. Even scores like 130-140 will be competitive. Once players get used to that, we will see high level of competition. Yesterday, teams batting first turned out to be the winners because of this reason.

Dhoni proved me right.

That is not bold/confident man but a chicken (Darpok)—Yesterday (against MI) he had enough time to cross over when his partner (I think it was Badrinath), but did not do so as not to face Latish Malinga), even commentators were surprised that he had lots of time to cross over but he just stood there.

That he is just an ordinary Batsman

That he is just an ordinary Captain

That he is not match winner—he had a perfect opportunity to win match today by his own big contribution, instead he did not even tried to win the game and gave up fight.

That India has been doing well recently because of Good opening pair and better bowling support not because of Dhoni .

Please don't abuse Dada. He has played immensely well and deserves a lot of praise. Dada has still not played yet, but any doubts that he won't? So while Dravid is Vishnu, Dada is shiva, the destroyer of bowlers' reputations.

Lalit Modi kept his pride and ego intact!
by chakravarty devulapalli on Apr 19, 2009 08:34 AM  | Hide replies

Lalit Modi announced 9mill ZAR for educating SA children. 9milZAR = 1mill USD = 50mill INR. This has to be appreciated. No doubt about that! But have Lalit Modi/Pawar and BCCI ever done anything tangible for the Indian people and the faithful fans of the country? They are just milking the Indian fans.
I think every city in India that a cricket match is staged needs to demand from the BCCI for their development programs!!
Indians are so naive that we dont even know how to ask, what to ask and whom to ask!!
SA simply arm twisted Lalit Modi and this guy generously gives it away to keep his pride and ego intact!!

@ Ritu Chawla
by Billu Plumber on Apr 19, 2009 08:11 AM  | Hide replies

Ritu,

My point is simple. Why blame SRK for something this big unless something is proven. I mean has he runs a big company. Surely the auditors would have caught any irregularity in the money transactions. Right?
At the same time I would like to know what are your reasons for thinking he is linked with underworld. If he is a criminal, HELL WITH HIM. But trust me all Indian celeberities used to be guests of D Ibrahim in late 80's and early 90's. That makes them stupid but not traitors.

Who are you Billu? A lawyer?

You know many criminals get away due to lack of proof but that does not mean they are innocent in the eye of aam adami.

But it is universal true, anyone who in involved in such activities do not die peacefully. Their bad deeds come back to them sooner or later.

Billu,

We are not judging but giving our opinion which in most cases might be better judgment given in court.
If someone's views are against others, it does not mean hating if the views are presented in civilized ways.

You are right but is it civilised to call someone linked with underworld, a criminal, traitor, terrorists etc? My point is if nothing gets proven, lets not call SRK a traitor.

Why hate someone even when we haven't met him?
..and saying about his links with underworld, then almost every super star and every politician has links with underworld. Some have because of fear while othere because of personal benefits.

Kick out Ravi Shastri from Commentary Box
by LG on Apr 19, 2009 08:08 AM  | Hide replies

Ravi Shastri was an ordinary cricketer who is now an ordinary and boring commentator. I feel he is one person who says what he is asked to say---he has been asked to project Dhoni as good captain and he tries every superlative to describe dhoni as captain, so pity of him that he is earning his bread just by licking Dhoni, which has been asked to do by agents/sponsors of Dhoni.

He should be kicked out of the commentary box. Bring Michael holding, Boycoot etc, who talk frank and give unbiased views.

Ravi Shastri is a rubbish commentator. He speaks as if he is bigger than the players who are actually playing outside. There is no wit but pure cynicism in his commentary. Also it looks like he always have an agenda. This Meat eating Brahimin is surely confused.

What makes it worst is the fact that he was an average player in the beginning and pretty rubbish in later years. He used to block and thats all. He did not have any shots. But now talks like as if he was some big shot. Such a wannabe with a wannabe accent
