Dravid and Kumble replied to Mallya that he can only rely on them. Not imported talents like Peterson.

We have the Great Indian Player League, featuring Kevin flopersen and Andrew Flopoff, both overrated players with gigantic egos! Vijay Mallya should apologise for having humiliated Dravid in the manner he did last year. Dravid as always has to repair the innings and he did it in style. All the people who were calling him names and slow etc. are nowhere on this forum.

Under difficult circumstances, only the greats were able to stand out - Sachin & Dravid. Pietersen and Hayden also batted well. The rest with the exception of Nayar could not bat at all.

I was referring to batting. Kumble & Warne showed their class, that both are retired shows their passion for the game. Today there will be another master class from McGrath.

Read this!!!
On the other hand, Dawood’s name seems to have been unnecessarily dragged in to justify the large-scale rioting in Mumbai in January 1993. The Justice BN Srikrishna Commission Report on the anti- Muslim riots refers to Dawood in the following context: “The Shiv Sena referred to and strongly relied on the information contained in C.R. No.5 of 1993, DCB- CID (initially C.R. No.122 of 1993 registered by Azad Maidan Police Station) to contend that there was a widespread conspiracy amongst various criminals funded by the notorious Dubai-based criminal, Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar, to smuggle arms and ammunition into India and to distribute them to the Muslim criminal elements in the Muslim-dominated areas in order to bring about communal riots. But, careful reading of the case papers in light of evidence of the then Additional Commissioner of Police in charge of SB-I, CID, V.S.Deshmukh, negatives this contention.”

The above para has got complete references unlike Indian A's post. Please go by facts and not whims.

You have got no idea how many India celebrities have been entertained by Dawood, and that includes people from all religion. He very famously used to bet and lose for Gavasker scoring centuries in ODIs. Also he was famouw for waiving Indian flag in Sharjah all through out matches.
So get your facts right. Maybe Dawoon is just a pwn in this game.
Or maybe the Shah you despise so much was infact Bharat Shah , a gujju deegra, and not SRK the

but i think some or other day shahrukh khan will be caught red handedly and will be punished

Ritu,

My point is simple. Why blame SRK for something this big unless something is proven. I mean has he runs a big company. Surely the auditors would have caught any irregularity in the money transactions. Right?
At the same time I would like to know what are your reasons for thinking he is linked with underworld. If he is a criminal, HELL WITH HIM. But trust me all Indian celeberities used to be guests of D Ibrahim in late 80's and early 90's. That makes them stupid but not traitors.

SRK is like brother of Dawood Ibrahim, he is having links with all underworld.

Dawood insisted SRK to get more Pakistani & Bangladeshi players in his IPL team. It was all game plan of SRK and Dawood to have more pakistani players in Indian Premier League.

There are reports from film industry that SRK is chchhakka (gay) as everyone knows his relationship with Karan Johar, he is not real father of his son and daughter. GUARI had them by Dawood Ibrahim. SRK purchased IPL team with help of Dawood Ibrahim. All his money is underworld money.

He started business in Dubai through Dawood's help. I think SRK will be kllled with Dawood only.

SRK was seen at 2 Sharjah matches with Dawood Ibrahim during his initial time. Get the CD's of all Sharjah matches in 90's you will get proof.

KKR team stinks just because of their owner SRK. Mithun or someone else should take it back from underworld linked guy SRK otherwise all the money earned by SRK will again go for noble cuase like 26/11 in India.

Dravid is a great batsman and a man of sterling character and behaviour. He is a true cricket lover and plays for the country with sincerity and total dedication. I really dont understand why people should question this part of his character and say things like "Dravid is useless"" " throw him out" etc. That is not fair.

Dravid scored 66 runs of 48 balls!
(on a bowler friendly pich)

Sachin scored 59 of 49 balls on a flat pitch....

Still it is sad to note that people go ga ga behind Sachin!!

I am not a fan of Dravid but the opening day of IPL belongs to him!!

Rediff Editor !00% biased
by rajesh kumar on Apr 19, 2009 06:15 AM  | Hide replies

I am extremely sorry to say that rediff editors are very much biased with their opinion when writing the praise for someone. Example is today's articles where mumbai indians won and article starts with Sachin Tendulkar led from front and all heavy praise but in other match where situation was extremely bad and conditions were tough to play and Rahul Dravid with his extremely wonderful innings took RCB team to a fighting total and finally because that only RCB won the match, definitely Kumble took wickets but actually it was total that was putting pressure on Yusuf Pathan and R Jadeja. This is not only time rather I have observed it many many times earlier also. Dravid's brilliance is always shadowed by someone. There is no one in the Indian team that matches Dravid's skill and Temperament. How many matches he has won for India in difficult situations. Rediff, please stop this bias ism and start fair reporting.

dear rajesh, Dravid was never a match winner but a match saver, it is reflected in his nickname 'the wall'. he is a good player but a defender. therefore the credit has rigjtly gone to the RC bowlers.

Dravid is a bigger test match winner than Sachin. Please check records. A match saved from a losing position is as good as a match won. (eg: 2nd test in recent series). Historic wins in Headingley, WI, Adelaide and Rawalpindi are a few of his significant contributions. His style may be defenisve but effective.
