being a good fielder is not enough mr.kaif
by Guest on May 07, 2009 01:00 PM

Fielding alone can't earn u a place in any team.kaif has to agree that he got a lot of chances atleast in the ipl season1 but he never up to it.now that he is been dropped from the squad, he will be able to rethink his strategies and come with a boom.its quite certain that he would never find a place in the indian team as he is been out of every thing.i hope u come back in every format of the game...good luck.

Kaif dropped from Rajasthan Royals
by Rumi on Apr 16, 2009 08:38 PM  | Hide replies

Kaif never got his due. BCCI and team management kept him shuffling up and down the order. Ultimately he got the No.7 slot wherein his was No.3 or 4. Whenever he got a Test, he lived up to the challenge. His Test record is better than Yuvraj even now. Raina, Rohit or Yuvraj do not come close to him in ODI-fielding or batting. Getting dropped from RR is actually good for Kaif. Yes monetarily it may be a loss for him. But once he makes a comeback to Indian Test/ODI team, he can more than make up for the loss thru endorsements. He was one of the top six rungetters in Ranji last year. His chance is destined to come the moment Laxman or Dravid or Sachin retire. Kaif is too classy and too big a fighter to be left out of ODI and Test teams for long. He will surely come back to the Indian team. He is still the best fielder in the country and India's fittest cricketer. He is still country's best runner between the wickets. 20-20 format is for lesser mortals like Jadeja and Yusuf who can't survive beyond 25 overs. Test cricket is the real cricket and to some extent ODI. Kaif is meant for that. And he will surely be India's captain too one day. Sehwag, Yuvraj and Gambhir are not captaincy materials. Dhoni will run out his luck. India doesn't forgive even one captaincy mistake overseas. Look what happened to Sachin, Azhar and Saurav. So captaincy will also come Kaif's way. Look at Kaif's great captaincy record leading India under19 , India A and UP Ranji Trophy teams.

Dear Rumi,
I have never read more apt comments than yours for Kaif. Indeed BCCI has never given the due, the respect Kaif deserved. He was never allowed to settle in one dayers, he was always given a chance to play test with an hanging sword on his head - yet he has always proved himself. Yet he was only given a few tests in last years. in spite of scoring at at an aveerage of 65 in last 5-6 tests, he was thrwon out of test team. he scored a century against west indies, yet could not find a place in the next test. His cricket acumen and intelligence is much above the rest, yet he is out of every version of game in India. Indeed BCCI has been real cruel towards him. I hope he gets his due in future.

Kaif suppose to captain
by iftekar dabir on Apr 16, 2009 06:13 PM

Kaif suppose to captain Rajasthan Royals as all teams have indian captain and they paid him most in their team. But they decided for Shane Warne for his star power. And now they decided to dropped him.

I sincerly request to Mr. Lalit Modi & hence to ICC to finalise 30 yard circle for as boundry so that player like Kaif, Laxman, Drivid, Sarwan & chandrapaul can earn some money from IPL

Kaif's inability to hit sixes
by iftekar dabir on Apr 16, 2009 05:10 PM  | Hide replies

Mohd Kaif can't hit those massive sixes, he can only six six if the boundry is inner circle. he is a too good fielder, but in T20 you need boundry hitters. Rajasthan Royals should not axe him as he can be good subsitute fielder or good runner and even he can serve drinks better as he has more exprience in serving drinks ti India's Fab4. They can make him fielding coach. But any way as per contract he will be paid and still hightest paid player in RR. But atleast they can some work for his hightest payment.

Thanks man, RR are wasting money they spend on Kaif. May be they don't want to spend more for his expenses of staying in South Africa
