Australians r afraid of India being no. one. So they tried to destroy players like Sehwag,Kaif,Ganguly,Zaheer,Harbhajan,Irfan etc.But India rely very much on them. Why appoint Buchanan & Warne for such posts after facing one of the biggest crisis in Indian cricket in the form of Chappel.
How is it Indian Premier League now replacing Indian Players by foreign players. Why appoint Warne as captain of RR even if Smith & Kaif are there. No IPL team has foreign captain beside RR in IPL-1.

Kaif - Cricket at loss
by abdul nazeer on Apr 16, 2009 10:33 AM  | Hide replies

Players like kaif will fade away from international cricket, they are now only eligible for domestic circuit, because players who will represent 20/20 and perform exceptionally well will force into the test team. This will set a bad precedent for the other teams to follow, pujara, laxman, dravid, katich, kallis are all should be under scanner, so that they bring in young chaps surviving 20 overs with full energy, ofcourse cheaper, These players have chance to outdo a talented crickets like rohit, kaif, pujara. There wont be million dollar purchases, i think top stars will fail in this ipl2,.

Dravid was lucky enough to survive oneday cricket because of ganguly and his keeping skills, whereas kaif is one dimensional player, although he does well in fielding, but you should be a good hitter or a good chucker to survive international cricket. Yuvraj is a good example of survival, even after 5 years of international cricket, his form even in one dayers and test are very ordinary, he is in the team because he is clean hitter and on his day he can kill a team. 'On his day' can even be applicable for kaif if the consistency level what yuvi posses is what the bench mark, iam not comparing yuvi with kaif, i am emphasizing that modern day cricket has taken over from the gentleman's game, the classic strokes are coming to an end through sachin, dravid and laxman, and new era of 6's has just began, you need 11 virus or yuvis in the team and wait for, whose turn is today's 'on his day'

Except gambhir performance was pathetic from youngsters and if you were having more youngsters then history have written the same story. I hope that Team Managements of all the IPL Teams follow similar rules/ norms to dump all the elder/ unfit/ not in-form players (like Kaif)from the playing team, as it is T20-20 games, not just Test or One-Dayer. This will improve the standard of the game outside the country as well as for the young Indian players. THANKS.

vote for sachin's retirement. Read the below statement from Sachin. He desperately wants to be invited to the T20 squad. Seriously, it is time for sachin to go and stop being cheap..

When asked about his decision to not be part of the national Twenty20 side, Tendulkar said he did not want to upset a winning combination. India had won the inaugural World Twenty in South Africa two years ago, but Tendulkar had not been part of that team because of fitness problems. "It's a team sport so, even if there is one weak link, it affects the whole team. I didn't want it to happen. The team went to South Africa and did well. They settled quite nicely. I don't want to disturb the combination now when they are going terrific."

Inviting any and all counter arguments..

I really do not understand what has gone wrong with people like mika and sanjay manjrekar, if sachin is bad at cricket then others don't even know how to hold bat. For years he has been back bone of the team,if he got out every indian has only i thought that it is now difficult 4 us to win, he was alone eqaul to all other batsmen in the eye of opponent. An how can u cal him a selfish and not playing for nation, To save a test he batted hours despite of pain in his back that was not allowing him to stand so that we dont loose against pak, he made century and others were not able to make half century, and if we lost was that sachin's fault? he played with fracture in finger just for his country, even it could have ended his carrier, it was he, coz of whom india has won so many matches and series. Earlier we lost not coz of sachin but other players, we never had such good bowling attack, and poor fielding that made the difference, we are a better team now coz these 2 departments have improved. he is still scoring good runs every series and everywhere, still people are complaining?Well such things are expected, when some people of the country can abuse mahatma gandhi then such things are quite expected. I just can say that i can take even a bullet for him. NO ONE HAS GIVEN INDIAN CRICKET MORE REASONS TO CELEBRATE THAN SACHIN.We need him to win 2011 world cup. B4 cursing gr8 people like sachin, just try to know more about them, read his biography and think are u even 10% of him.

All the more reason why sachin should stop being cheap. Sachin has enough money now, do you really think he NEEDS T20? As an elder statesman of cricket, he should encourage test cricket which is purest form of the game. Even Ricky Ponting has grown up and is speaking about larger things. So why Sachin can't grow up?

I have nothing against Sachin, just ask him to be satisfied with his achievements and have a broader vision for indian cricket. Jai Ho.

Tendulkar is an all time great. But to become a legend, it takes more than skill. It is HE who should realize his own greatness and stop resorting to cheap talk. This kind of talk does not befit him..and just bring his stature down.

Tendulkar is tendulkar, remember what warne said, if india is to be number one it will be because of tendulkar. We won the VB Series in Australia because of him. His presence in the team is morale boosting and mentoring the team. When Yuvraj hit a ton is Sri Lanka, he waived his bat to Sachin this is just a small example.

Australians r slow poison. Look at Chappel,Buchanan,Warne,.......
They want to destroy Indian talents.
Why put Warne as captain(He was never a full time captain of his country). Even if Smith is there(One of worlds best captain now). No IPL team beside RR has a foreign captain.

Kaif was weak player of RR in last season. He didn't perform well in practice match also. Replacing Kaif will strong the RR.
RR needs youngster like Kamran Khan who can be most dangerous bowler in this season.

BCCI destroyed KAIF - BCCI can go to hell for that
by anurag arora on Apr 16, 2009 09:23 AM  | Hide replies

I remember going through my teenage years idealizing Mohammed Kaif for his fielding and his mature batting. However, not only did he have bad luck, but also BCCI acted like a fool. When he was scoring, they kept him out and when he was out for some time and came back for a series he couldn't score. One needs to give the player some time and not erratic series here and occasionally there to shine as a player.

A great talent wasted.... I am sure there are so many other such players... no wonder India has not won a world Cup since '83... you just can't go on ignoring talent like that. Some like Yuvraj were lucky and now they are shining... Kaif I am sure would've been a star too given atleast some chances and security of being in a team... How do you expect to bring a player in some random series under enormous pressure and uncertainty as to whether he'll play the next series, and expect him to perform?

Dear Mr. Anurag,
Your comments on Kaif has come as a pleasent surprise for me. When almost entire India keeps on blaming poor Kaif, at least there are a few handful like you who have assessed the entire situation very wisely and accept how cruel BCCI has murdered a great talent and team player called Kaif. People who talk nonsense can ever name a player in the history of Indian player who was never given a chance to play test cricket inspite of scoring a brilliant 148 not out against west indies. Yuvraj was injured, he was given a chance, he made those great 91 notout and saved the test match in Nagpur against England, yet he was dumped in the very next match. As far as one dayers are concerned, inspite of showing great talent and maturity in netwest, he spent his whole cricketing career coming at number 7. he was given a chance to play at no. 1 in a Sri Lanka tri series, he was adjudedged the best batsman of the tournament. yet he has always been forced back to number 7. Nobody can match his fielding skills, his running between the wicket and his great sportsman spirit. It is amazing how he has beared all these atrocities over the years. He has spent his life outside home finetuning his cricket skills always and that's what made me him mentally so strong to bear the studidity of administrators and selectors.

Kaif was and is the most overrated Indian cricketer in recent times. He slowed down run rate so considerably in ODI's.Look at hsi replacements-Gambhir,Raina,etc-so much beter than him in ODI's.No wonder noone misses him and RR also have dumped him.

If Badrinath had got to play 100 odd ODI's like Kaif,he would be the worlds best batsman in the ICC ratings now.

Kaif was a pretty decent batsman, particularly on the leg side and an outstanding fielder. But he was never a big hitter. Indian team management wasted him by playing him continuously at no. 7. So, everytime he came to bat there was pressure....either pressure of scoring quick runs (which was difficult for him because he was never a big hitter) or pressure of steadying the innings when top order fell cheaply against a good bowling spell. I believe if he was persisted at no 4 continuously (Laxman used to bat at no 4 during 2001-2003) he could have been an asset to Indian cricket team

Like any cricketer of UP Kaif has always been a victim of BCCI politics.

If you want to be a secured member in Indian team, you should be from Bombay. Ravi Shastri enjoyed a lot being from Bombay. Sachin Tendulkar too is divine member of the team only on basis of few scores and several failures in the last 5 years adding to his personal records benefitting to the product companies he endorses.
