Kaif - you have class
by Ashvin Oza on Apr 16, 2009 09:05 AM  | Hide replies

It is very sad to see a fine cricketer being treated so scantly by Administrators in this manner. It speaks highly of him in the manner he has taken the setback so maturely and I wish the young man the best in the next Domestic Season and will pray for his return to the highest level of Cricket in 2009-10 season. Good Luck and you are a winner in my books.

Kaif was not scored heavy run in las IPL but scored some valuabel runs. 3 sixes against Symonds and won the match. We have seen in many matches Kaif adjust himself according match requirement and win the match

Md.Kaif out of Rajasthan Royal
by Rumi on Apr 16, 2009 05:52 AM  | Hide replies

Getting dropped from RR is good for Kaif. Yes monetarily his will e a loss. But once he makes a comeback to Indian Test/ODI team, he can more than make up for the loss. He was one of the top six rungetters in Ranji Trophy last year. His chance is destined to come the moment Laxman or Dravid or Sachin retire. Kaif is too classy and too big a fighter to be left out of ODI and Test team for long. He will surely come back to the Indian team. He is still the smartest fielder in the country and India's fittest cricketer. He still has a better record in Test and ODI than Yuvraj. 20-20 format is for lesser mortals like Jadeja and Yusuf who can't be consistent beyond 25 overs. Test cricket is the real cricket and to some extent ODI. Kaif is meant for that. And he will surely be India's captain too one day. Sehwag, Yuvraj and Gambhir are not captaincy materials. Dhoni will run out his luck. India doesn't forgive even one captaincy mistake overseas. Look what happened to Sachin, Azhar and Saurav. So capataincy will also come Kaif's way. Look at Kaif's great capataincy record leading India under19 , India A and UP Ranji Trophy teams.

He was unfortunate to be in RR where competition is too much. He should had been in a weaker team.

It was a very wise decision from R.R. to drop
Kaif. He is out of form cricketer, absolutely in no good form, he was lucky to have survived so long with Indian team. He got so many opportunities to show his talent but made a mess of his career. Good bye Kaif.

Kaif left out of Rajasthan Royals team

It is good for Kaif. He should keep performing at domestic level as he did last year. He was one of the top six rungetters in Ranji Trophy. His chance will come the moment Dravid or Sachin retire. Kaif is out of form since long, infact expect one ODI against ENG(with yuvraj support) he never shown any performance that he should play cricket. So no wonder if anybody can kick him out. But now Badale looks like scared that minors and media will target him......

Dude,
Don't forget the knock in WC 2003, against Pakistan, especially when he came after Sehwag n Dada got out and proved sensibly with Sachin who was playing knock of his life. It was very mature batting by Kaif that day. Also if I remember correctly, he palyed very well alongside Dravid in day night match @ Lahore, which resulted in first series win for India. He is a classy player and got a raw deal like Sehwag n Irfan under Chappel, he would come back strongly.

You too dont forget the knock played by Kapil Dev against Zimbabwe in WC 1983. It was a very very useful knock, at those circumstances. Let us give an opportunity to Kapil to play in RR.

RR were left with no choice
by rahul shukla on Apr 16, 2009 02:16 AM

With crores of money put in, the franchises can't help but choose a fit and performing squad. Kaif should not have expected a place owing to his stature and past performances. The rule here is simple,"Perform or perish".

wise decision
by supandi Kale on Apr 16, 2009 02:00 AM

The most expensive player of RR is out... Kaif has no skills for 20/20 format. He has been one of the most over-rated batsman of current era, who never really performed with bat. He was an exceptional fielder, till younger breed arrived, and did the job just as good, if not better.

Kaif deserved to be left out. Sadly, his international career could be all but over.

Kaif's omission is big loss for cricket
by abdul nazeer on Apr 16, 2009 12:43 AM  | Hide replies

Players like kaif will fade away from international cricket, they are now only eligible for domestic circuit, because players who will represent 20/20 and perform exceptionally well will force into the test team. This will set a bad precedent for the other teams to follow, pujara, laxman, dravid, katich, kallis are all should be under scanner, so that they bring in young chaps surviving 20 overs with full energy, ofcourse cheaper, These players have chance to outdo a talented crickets like rohit, kaif, pujara. There wont be million dollar purchases, i think top stars will fail in this ipl2,.

Dravid was lucky enough to survive oneday cricket because of ganguly and his keeping skills, whereas kaif is one dimensional player, although he does well in fielding, but you should be a good hitter or a good chucker to survive international cricket. Yuvraj is a good example of survival, even after 5 years of international cricket, his form even in one dayers and test are very ordinary, he is in the team because he is clean hitter and on his day he can kill a team. 'On his day' can even be applicable for kaif if the consistency level what yuvi posses is what the bench mark, iam not comparing yuvi with kaif, i am emphasizing that modern day cricket has taken over from the gentleman's game, the classic strokes are coming to an end through sachin, dravid and laxman, and new era of 6's has just began, you need 11 virus or yuvis in the team and wait for, whose turn is today's 'on his day'

kiss my ass abdulla ....dravid was in the team because of ganguly ...are you out of your mind(dosent seem like you got one).Get ur facts right. Dravid has scored 10500 odd runs in ODI's. Because of his consistency in tests and ODI's ganguly has such a good captaincy record. Check Wikipedia...dravid has contributed the most under Ganguly's captaincy.Ganguly prospered because during his tenure THE WALL STOOD TALL.

Mr. Somebody, you got to know not only the records, but the circumstances and situations in indian team. You have to follow cricket very closely, dravid is a good test player and everyone knows that, but to fit into the oneday scheme of things, he needed some sort of push at that time, any keen follower would accept my statements. He was given the wicket keeping role and that made him sure in playing XI and he prospered. If you are sure to be in the team any player would bring back the domestic form which he possess into the international arena, you need luck and a bit of push. Finally its a general views, you dont hv to be arrogant using your words, you can view your opinion in a very good manner as well. Try to change, no harm in that.

Yes I agree. Dravid scored nearly 1/4th of total runs scored by India in tests played under Ganguly's captaincy
