He was there so long as Leftists were there. If they had not been there you could imagine. Ganguly played more politics than anyone else anywhere in the world

& How may I ask do you generalize that South Indians are not good for leaders? Is it just because we are better educated & generally more inteligent?

dadi not dada should have been dropped from team much earlier. There are several players of his calibre. Heres an example how pulling the right strings can enhance your career.

Boys whatever you say, I say Ganga time is up....it is upto him whether he accepts or not?

Media making lot of fuss about Drvid & Sacin, but in reality Ganguly is weaker player of all four and Kaif is now more matured who could fit into test team at no. 6 slot.

Selectors are very right in dropping Gangs from the team, as they want to introduce one new face in the playing 11 to start the transition. Selectors can not drop Sachin as he is one of the alltime great players in the world and stands right with Lara, Pontings etc...even if he had a poor series that doesn't matter. Now Dravid who is one of the most trustable batsman in the line up and he too stands right with the greats of modern cricketers in the modern era and he is just a innings away from to be back to his usual WALL act. Finally the chaoice between VVS and Ganguly, even a school kid says that VVS far more better player than ganguly on any day of the week (forget about stats test cricket about playing the situation as well), moreover all these three stars are under mid thirtees and VVS being yengest of all at 33. Gangs is now almost 37 years and which is a good to be retiring age from the cricket for his kind of modest player......

Gangs just fooling himself to divert the attention of the media and the fans......Selectors are not dummies and some of them are great Indian crickers in their era and they know as much as what Gangs or Media (Star TV folks) knows about cricket and there are no politics nor the regional bias involved in droping Gangs..So stop bugging and hang up boots.

Ganguly - Man behined success in indian cricket team
by razak on Sep 15, 2008 09:55 PM  | Hide replies

Just want to ask selectors what do you want from Ganguly? All the problems cricketers of ganguly's calibre facing in india. coz selectors they themselves dont know what they want. if they were honest they would discuss with all senior cricketers & give them the responsiblity in building the young team. instead they keep on back biting the seniors without even considering what they have done to indian cricket in past. it is insulting to drop a player of who has done well in past with bat, ball and even leading from the front. the encrougement he has shown towards youngsters. Mr.Selectors try to be more honest with players. if you want youngster why dont you discuss with Sachin,Dravid,Laxman & Ganguly above all kumble. Try to know what are there plans acordingly plan the selection. It is not only one Player to face the axe. Distribute the responsiblilty to each one of the player let all this 5 be in 15 while selecting 11 give chance to one player for atleast 2 testss. More over first think Where the youngsters are required. for example if you are giving chance to middle order batsman. one match drop ganguly and give him chance in higher batting order so that he can play with Sachin or Rahul. not that you give him at 7 or 8 what he can prove at that position. like this every body gets a chance to prove give chance for 2 tests.

Before goin to srilanka Ganguly only scored many runs in the previous series but he was not recognised. not sachin or dravid or lakshman else scores..... he scores. but he was not at all agreed by the selection commitee. why this partiality? he is the best leader and of course the best batsman too ...... if he is not playing well y should he be selected for the best cricketer award? there is perfect politics behind this.. sachin is also not playing well in the last s.l.series... y not taking sachin out of the team? is he a god? or is there any rule that sachin should play ?? dravid is a great man, ok but he too not playing well in the s.l. series. why only Ganguly removed??? that too not even for the irani trophy? a man of his caliber should not stay out and see the match... he should play.... if the selectors wanna give chance for the youngsters.. remove the OUT OF FORM sachin and give the youngsters a chance.. y only GANGULY? The selectors must revise the situation

I may offend Bengalis, but Ganguli as a bastman cannot be compared to Tendulkar, Dravid and Laxman. He's the best leader of men among all the four, that I agree. But he's a very mediocre batsman at best.

IMO Laxman and Sehwag are the match-altering batsmen for us. If they click we are competitive. And as far as bowling is concerned, we can always scorn at Kumble for being the non-spinner that he is. But other than the 2001 Australia series, he's been the prime reason why we win a test series at home dating back to 1993.

The parameters of comparison are too far and wide... Sehwag is not the most technically perfect batsman. He's more of a stand and whack with a wonderful hand-eye coordination. Dravid is perfection personified. Tendulkar is the most perfect batsman of all... be it technique, approach and temperament. Laxman and Ganguly are the arty types - with Laxman able to play any kind of delivery with equal ease. I'd want to rate any of them less than match winners.

I don’t think so we should forget about the way he gave back the glory to the Indian cricket, after 83, a long test series win again pak on pak land… we couldn’t show the performance previously like this. In spite of the critics as well the divide n ruler “Greg chappel”, the way he came back, it was marvelous, and you should not over criticize the person. Though you can have young blood in the team, but the senior support should be there within the team. In the critical situations it is the most essential. And with the consideration of past statistical analysis there are many who has shown less performance. And in previous world cup also you can analyze the result in absence of him.
And definitely at this moment you should give him chance to play then some one can show the potential due to the politics one should not have injustice with the career.

Sachin - Next
by prasheen mothukuri on Sep 14, 2008 11:14 PM

f Sachin does not rectify his weakness against incoming swinging and spinning deliveris of good length and rising deliveries of good length on offstump, he would be the next.
80% of his dismissals in his Test career are LBWs
12% slips catches bcoz of cover drives and nudges to keeper
8% other

He should tackle incoming deliveries well
