The glorious days are aver. Now RD is just another brick in the wall. Thus he has to clearly the see the writing on the wall (may be with glasses)and decide himself before others do it. Rahul should not follow the Ganguli way.

Mr Durbal bakwas ,I wish I could seal all ur holes with the bricks from the wall.
When Dravid plays this series, the following records are in great danger: 1.Most runs ina series against Aus 2.Most runs in a bilateral series in India 3.Most 100's in a series 4.Most patient batting to save a test match 5.Most minutes spent at crease 6.Worst analysis by any bowler in India(Krejza 30-0-250-0)

Well definitely he is not in good form. But the point is we still dont have a better batsman to replace Dravid at no. 3. By the way, do you know how much Dhoni averages in Test cricket during the same period ? Its 31. Lesser said about Yuvraj in Test cricket, the better.

Gen Zia ... I think there is someone near to place is offering free poison.. drink and die...
Rahul Dravid is undoubtedly the best test batsmen India has ever produced. There are hardly any test victories during after 1996 that India won without his contribution. The Adelaide test victory is one my life's most exciting moments.

now someone needs to make the HOLE IN THE WALL...that will truly stand for rahul dravid.
It's time to quit for the older generation and keep up the statesmenship. India is a young country and there are kids out there hungry to perform and excel. Only when the Dravids and Gangulys of today start making way can the new kids make a mark. Many promissing careers will get burried otherwise. Do people remember how much Dravid was nurtured early after he debuted. That strokeless wonder was transformed by the opportunities given to him esp. in the One day world. He came of age in the 1999 edition of the world cup. Similarly, it's time to give the kids of this age the chance. Luckily ofcourse there is the T20 format out there now so they'll not starve or live a completely less than kind life but ask all those budding cricketers what they want - they want to be Dravids and Gangulys now in test and one day cricket and earn the money and fame that comes with it. The seniors keep saying that they should be picked on the basis of performance and form not age - but the main objective of retirement is to make way for the next generation. They've had their time in the fun and sun. It's time to bow out of the game gracefully. This is especially so for Grand Ol' Kumble. There is a young extremely talented Leggie out there waiting for the opportunity to take his spot. Make a graceful exit rather than face the ignomy of being dropped!

Thanks god the indian selectors have more wisdom. They are doing the right thing in selecting the right guys for the job.
There are no young players in the calibre of Dravid, Ganguly, Tendulkar and Laxman in the indian domestic scene. All those pretenders cannot play more than 10 overs in a 20-20 game, let alone bat for half-a-day or one-day.
If you buy the ACM guys argument, he will replace the indian T20 team with 15-year olds. He'll claim Dhoni and Sewag are too old. Is that wise?

Well said Talisan. The concept of making way makes sense only if you have players of better calibre waiting in the wings. Dravid was nurtured because people saw the talent in him.
Take Kumble out of this team and there goes half our victories.
They are men of calibre and know when best to leave the stage.
Javagal Srinath and Venky Prasad are the biggest cronies of Rahul Dravid....they will only say good things about him...the fact is that Dravid needs to have a great series against Australia to prolong his career at the highest level.....
His performance against Lanka was shoddy...he was a bunny of Mendis......will he now become a bunny of White or Michael Clarke??
