Very very bad of Anil Kumble. How can you ever forget Jawagal Srinath? I hope its accidental and not intentional. If the case is later, I am ashamed of the the greatest cricketer whom I have admired most of all :)

why should he mention of cricketers who have already retired...that way, he has to mention about so many...dont worry about the past....worry about the people who are still playing and part of the team...grow up...Kumble is known for his goodness and greatness...so, dont be ashamed of anything, he is a great player and will be remembered in the history books for the same...

He was mentioning all people now in Cricket arena (current players/coaches/selectors etc). Srinath is not in these group. So he might have missed Srinath by mistake.

Re: Kumble the jumbo
by shanik boss on Nov 07, 2008 12:00 PM
haa haa haa .. rightly said.

he has always been a liability as far as fielding is concerned and i think after that tour of south africa where they dissected his bowling and called him a medium pacer and played him that way.. i think his career was almost over...

Easy to say and difficult to do.
Not many have taken 600 plus wickets.
It's a rare feat. Hats off to kumble. Everybody has off days in life.
Bravo kumble. India is obliged to you.

by Madhu on Nov 07, 2008 11:52 AM

Jumbo will be a role model for all of us by his character- never giving up, respect others, fighting till the end, unrelenting,dignified...In India, we hardly have such role models!

Indian govt gives Bharat Ratna to Jasraj, Bhimsen Joshi etc. But these guys have really made India proud outside, be it sports or whatever. Gavaskar, Kapil, Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly, Kumble and Laxman. I always think, they deserve the Bharat ratna more than the so called Classical Singers or half-scientists and gory politicians.

What kind of fools do we have here?

Of course these players have done us proud...but Bhimsen Joshi...so called classical singer?

I mean do you even know what Bhimsen Joshi is and what classical music means?

As rightly said by Meer cricketers at least earn handsome money...these artists give their whole life to the art, they are maestros!!

Among cricketers...Sachin may get the award.

good bye and good luck
by krishna moorthy on Nov 07, 2008 11:30 AM

Kumble will be remembered for not only for his cricket achievement but also for the charachter he is. Never seem him fight with anybody on and off the field. Never lost his temper. He was a real ambassodor of not cricket but also as a representavie of India. The way he handled the racist issue is very much laudable. I wish him all the very best and I am sure he will be contributing in other field as well since he is a engineir by profession. Good luck and good wishes

Krishnamoorthy / Mumbai
