kumble the jumbo
by rocky on Nov 07, 2008 12:20 PM  | Hide replies

Kumble was a jumbo, a white elephant in the team. Maintaining was definetly costly.

Now the economy of bowling will improve with the burden of the team gone and new options available.

Anil has been a great cricketer and a wonderful human being. So humble, dedicated, honest and a good team man. You have won several matches for India.

Here's wishing you a wonderful life after retirement from active cricket. Hope you will in some way or the other be associated with Indian cricket.

Good Luck

We may see another bowler who may immitate Anil's action. But we will never see another intelligent bowler who walks batsmen into mistakes. All the Anil in your life. We enjoyed every contribution of yours.

He should have retired before the series
by Jatin Desai on Nov 07, 2008 12:04 PM  | Hide replies

He didn't bowl as much in the first test against Aus in banglore...Looked unfit

Waited till last moment in Mohali test to withdrew..

Played third test inspite of bad form... almost denied A mishra place in side...

Had he retired before start of the series.. it would have been ideal .. would have gone honourably..

We could have won the third test bowler

Have some respect for these cricketers!

India will really struggle to win tests at home without him...he has left a 'JUMBO' void in the team!
