By way, vijendra rao, saurav is playing his last match.

One more thing, who r u tell them to leave cricket.......

Would u like someone telling u to retire from your work........

We, people of India, have no right to tell the pillars & legends of Indian Cricket to retire......

How many of us are as successful as Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid,VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble?

First become successful in your chosen field of endeavour and then talk......

To be a Warne never possible,
chance for Hirwani.
And the help from pitch should have to be considered

Lack of spinner cost the series for Aussie
by Sneha on Nov 07, 2008 01:44 PM  | Hide replies

All the talk of Aussies are on the decline for the result of this series should end from Krejzas pick of 8 wickets.
Its a fact that our batsmen are less comfortable against a quality spinner(spin with little turn). Aussies lacked a spinner not great, just a spinner, be it like a Monty. Then we would have been in trouble.
Krejza is the lone spinner now, Cameroon White bowled only 10 overs.
The point is Aussies are not on decline like West Indies after retirement of some great cricketers

They will remain in Top 3 but soon they will lost their number 1 position. Their domination in the cricket has been end after Gilly, Macgrath and Warne retirement.

Andrew Symonds, Clarke, Jacques, Hussey, and Ponting too seems to be there in the team for 3 or 4 years. That is enough to make a good team,
But the search for a spinner is worrying them.
Though not a regular Andrew Symonds absence weakened their bowling too,for his off spin could have been handy in Indian conditions

its jus a matter of time, Symonds plays a major role in AUS batting as wel as Spin department, its jus that this series whr they had to cope with so many yung inexperienced players results r not coming for them n moreover they jus had one bad match if India was really playing good we shud hav been 2-0 up coming to the last test.

If you will discard the controversial Sydney test we leveled the series in Aus also while they had Symonds and Gilly. There was a time when they finished the test in 3 days and wanted the test time to reduce to 4 days.

Fast bowling department is also weak. Yes batting is still good so if they will not win at least they can draw the test. Still beating them is difficult. Now India, Aus and SA are on same level.

I still have doubts about India,
For we have recent examples,
Asia Cup final, again a final(Kitply or something), Sri lankan test series

In ODI so many teams are our competitor. But in test we are in top 3 since last 4-5 years. Our test team is so good.

by Anurag Rathore on Nov 07, 2008 01:32 PM

Not a bad total but I think 60-70 runs short from the safe position.
Krezja - 215/8. Is it good debut! What we can say about that. He gave half of runs of indian total but took 8 wickets. Match result will decide his impact.

kumble u r such a great aggressive spinner . its very sad that u r leaving the cricket field. but i will never forget the zeal and enthusism u showed in numerous occasions..the way u bowled the pak players in every match u played against them( wc 1996, 10wkt at delhi) were all grt. u r best in wrapping up the tailendrs among all the indian bowlers. ur bowling as well as the batting in titan cup 1996 is something special.

Wonderful Person.
by renganathan m on Nov 07, 2008 12:28 PM

From his message, we can understand how good and complete person he is. He has message for all and everything positive. All the best for whatever you will be doing. Thanks for carrying the mantle.
I can still remember you bowling 8th over of Indian ODI Innings with score around 60 runs. And everybody expecte you to take wicket. And what will you do, take wicket...Also you will be bowling most of the 49th over for sometime. Till we get some more bowlers like Zak...
And you never thrown your wicket. That was something every bowler needs to learn.

Also all the youngster should learn, by not overacting also you can take wickets and you are a role model in that sense not only for Indian Cricket but for International cricketers.
And thanks for all that you had given to India.

Kudos Anil !
by appi murthy on Nov 07, 2008 12:21 PM

What a wonderful cricketer and human being ! I am glad that I had someone like Anil Kumble to look upto and idolise. Although in college days, it was only bcos we thot he was great looking ;o), over the years we have seen and learnt what it means to be a graceful person, what it means to keep up the spirit despite all odds and challenges, what it means to work hard and never mind the results (read critics).

Well, an era comes to an end, and perhaps, with this, an end to the old world cricket which was a gentleman's game. Not to demean the youngsters...but anyway..

Thank you Anil, for playing for the country and meaning it, for 18 long years and thank you for being an idol to many of us and an inspiration.

Rashmi
