Not only a great bowler but a also a very good human at heart. I have never seen a player who has been in cricket for 18 long years and yet without any controversary. Anil, we will miss you a lot but your footprints will ever remain etched in our hearts.
For a man of Kumble's stature, statistics do not matter.... An honourable cricketer, a gentleman and a Great Human being, we all should salute Jumbo for the services he had rendered to Indian cricket. I personally feel that a big void is created on this day which will never be filled by anybody...!!!
I think he is not just good but he is the best in all areas of cricket. His spirit is just marvlous.I will not compare him with any body like Warne, Murlidharan etc, i think he is just Beyond comparision. One of the greatest player in the World.

Truly Anil Kumble is the Greatest Indian Bowler and one of the all time great cricketer.This young lad is the most generous and dedicated cricketer- he never indulged into any controversy,bowled with a broken jaw,bowled almost for full days, even on flat pitches he came forward to take the responsibility.
It will not be easy to find a replacement for Kumble. Great players do not appear every day or every where. The Fab 4 Kumble have done an excellent service to Indian cricket in the last 12 to 19 yrs. Due respect to be given to them. Let us now on this occasion only talk about the glory and not get into unwanted politics discussions. Hope Dravid, Laxman, Sachin have a dignified exit respectfully.
1.Warne failed against sub continental batsmen. He was hammered by Sidhu,de silva,sachin etc. Whereas Kumble took wickets against every opposition 2.Warnes main wkts were against England and South africa, who were woeful players of spin.Even sehwag would have got wickets against them. Kumble had perfect 10 against pakistan, who were top players of spin 3. Kumble had no great opening bowler. He had to do the job himself. Warne had mcgrath and gillespie. 4.Kumbles batting much better than warnes. Also he has a test hundred in england 5. Kumble had a superb googly, while warne never bowled googly
ALso the fact that KUmble had no history of drug usage, indiscretions, action questioning(like muralitharan) makes him the greatest spin bowler ever. He has brought joy to millions of bengalru guys and Indians!!

Kumble and Kapid Dev's achievements are bigger than Australian bowlers as they were the only strike bowlers for long time and that puts lot of pressure on the bowling. Performing under that pressure is commendable.

Yes truly.. His character and as a human he is exemplary.. He is one player without any controversies of any sort.. A true gentleman and a legend. Hats off to you Sir.
