Kumble, You are the Face of Indian Bowling
by Thendral on Nov 03, 2008 11:01 AM  | Hide replies

I was in tears when i heard the news. You have done sooooooooo much to make our country proud. You have never bothered about records, praise & fame. You are the most professional cricketer I have seen. We all Indians have high regards & esteem for you.

I wish the BCCI gives you the due respect. I have heard that there is a Street in Bangalore named after you. But you deserve much more than that, though you are going to be remembered for eternity for you commitment & gentlemanly attitude. We can have a stadium named after you or a river that never dries named after you maybe.

We will miss you very much. We humbly request you to continue doing something for Indian Cricket. Since we can be in touch with you then.

Kumble, We all Love You.
On behalf of all Indians I feel debted to say this.

Fellow Indian,
Thendral

Good bye, jumbo!

Anil Kumble will no doubt rank amongst the all time great Indian bowlers. It will be difficult to find such a consistent and enduring performer like him.

I would have liked to see him retire in slightly happier circumstances. The decision has come at a time when he seem to have been pushed to the wall with regards to his captaincy and bowling by younger challengers. I wished he had retired in Sourav Ganguly's fashion with people asking the question "why?" rather than "why not?".

Anyway, this, by no means fades the shine of one of the brightest ever Indian cricket star!

All the best for your future, Kumble and thank you for winning many a match for India!

The Bad days of Indian test cricket has been started.
by Anil Pradhan on Nov 03, 2008 10:25 AM  | Hide replies

It's really a shocking news that these superstars like Anil Kumble & Saurav Ganguly are anouncing their retirement from Test cricket. Why buddy? Cozz of comments from selectors and other cricket icons.Who are they to suggest these cricketers. After this they will definitely target to another three(SACHIN, RAHUL & LAXMAN). This is too much of politics, its shameless and it should be stopped as soon as possible. Otherwise the downfall of Indian Test Cricket is 100% sure.

Some day all these guys have to retire. Nobody would want to see these players being dropped like Bedi, Viswanath. Like Gavaskar said it is better to quit when they ask Why?? then When??...But hope this guy is around to guide the new spinners...
