I am surprised a seasoned interviewer like Anjali Rao didnt bring up the ICL league at all during the interview. Any idiot knows that IPL is a copycat league. The original was ICL. The least thieves like Modi do is give credit to the original. No one is grudging the success of IPL, why grudge the fact that ICL is the original league?

packer started a rival league alright but it wasnt T20 ... as a matter a fact, it was martin crowe's concept of 'max cricket'(2 innings of 10 overs each for both sides) that was altered with by the england cricket board and later adopted by the ICC to give us T20 ...
I wonder why the interviewer never challenged him when he said BCCI did lot of research before launching IPL. They saw ICL as a threat and in a hurry went and created IPL. Unfortunately ICL could not rope in top class players and could not get hold of playgrounds because of BCCI diktat. BCCI tried every means to discourage ICL. And now these jokers claim that they invented league cricket. And making money out of IPL. Who knows who is making money out of this?
This guy Lalith Modi is taking all the credit now for T20 Format.. Actual people who thrived for the Indian cricket (thru ICL) are Kapil Da..BCCI just got interested b'cos of money.. They were never interested to improve Indian domestic cricket.Guys Dont forget the humiliating world cup exit.. He is just taking credit for the someone else's hardwork..you shameless...
What is there to be so ashamed of making money to lie so openly? And why anybody should make a big deal about anybody making money? Don't we all be in their shoes, rich and abnoxious? I don't live in India, nor do I get to watch the matches. I just visit Cricinfo.com to get the scores but let me tell you this, I love this format. This international team idea is swell. This is how sports are supposed to be played with team spirit transcending the national boundaries. Again India came up with truly amazing idea and took a leadership role. What a treat to all those cricket lovers to watch the best of the world in their backyard! I'm truly thankful to all the owners like Shahrukh, Preity, The Ambanis and I can't name the others. I don't think it really hurts the test and one day cricket. I must say this, Shah Rukh is something... ICC tries to ridicle him for using them to promote his movie --- the guy buys a whole team! I'm beginning to love the guy! I hope Preity's team wins the prize in the end.
