DC has performed very disappointedly
by Krishna on May 03, 2008 09:37 PM  | Hide replies

I have come to watch cricket after 5 years(stopped after India lost 2003 WC), as my home city is a participant in IPL. But DC players have performed very badly so far.

He already mentioned that his home city is participating and also expressed disappointment that DC has performed badly.

Do you also need to know what city he is from?

Why Arjun Yadav?
by Sachin Kalwani on May 03, 2008 09:29 PM  | Hide replies

Can anyone explain to me why Arjun Yadav is in DC side? Clearly he's not a bowler ... and he bats at no. 8!! That's a strange kind of all rounder, if we're hoping for one??? With these kind of selections .. Hyd deserve to lose every game!
Btw - Arjun yadav is the son of shivlal yadav, former selector for south zone - so you are free to draw conclusions on what's happeneing :-)

Also, remember it is for this nincompoop, Hyderabad Ranji team lost Ambati Rayudu, who was given less preference because he did not have a cheat as a selector-father.

Also, IPL has seen Azharuddin, Jadeja in the commentary / corporate boxes; they seem to move around with impunity. Would glad to be corrected if I'm wrong. But till then, I am led to assume that there is more to IPL than it meets the eye - in terms of just cricket.

Any surprise that while "Hyderabad Heroes" won the ICL, Deccan Chargers are doing miserably in IPL .... most of the good players from Hyd team probably had enough of politics in the state team and chose to go to ICL instead???

But for the fat Arjun Yadav, they could have converted three singles in the last over into doubles and tied the match.

Why does he want to just run a single when he is incapable of hitting boundaries and sixes. Atleast keep the other batman on strike.

If this is the way they want to perform they will lose all matches
by Krishna on May 03, 2008 08:51 PM  | Hide replies

There is no spirit to win from DC side. Start taking it seriously. IPL is a serious tournament. Remove Yadav and other non-performers. Laxman you are known as Test match player. If you still want to bat in T20, come as 2nd or 3rd order batsman. Let the opening overs played by people like Gilly, Gibbs and Afridi. Gibbs is known as hard hitting opening batsman, not first or second order. So don't waste his skills in team. No use in Laxman staying still 15th over and making his 50 when run rate is so low.

saale khote dimag ke gult....ek laxman hi to khela raha hai last 2 matches se. aur woh bhi at 100 strike rate. aur afridi ka to mat hi bolo, 11/12 run se jyada to usse kabhi banta nahi hai.

What is the need to abuse? What's the point in Laxman scoring 40 or 50 when team loses? Gilchrist, Gibbs are among the world's best one day batsmen. Records speak for themselves. They play very well in opening overs. Even Afridi is more suitable there instead of two or three down. I know that Laxman is a Telugu person, that does not mean I should support him just because of that.

so you would prefer laxman scores only 2 runs?

look, afridid is a waste. if it were someone else, its understandable, but afridi is worse than a dustbin.

hello mr., I am not so much supporting Afridi here. My point is Gibbs should be the one who should open with Gilchrist. Laxman is hardly considered for one day matches, so why is he opening in T20's. DC should get it's order right.

I dont think this Afridi even has common sense.
Why doesnt he wait and see a few balls before he starts hitting ?
He just tries to slog every ball out of the ground no matter where it's pitched or how speed or slow the ball is. He is a useless batsman.

Hey idiot, it's not about telugu or non telugu.
Laxman has performed much better than other so called stars in the team.
So I dont think you need to blame him. Indians are always good at blaming Indian players yet they dont reserve their criticism when foreign players dont perform. I dont know why
A lot of people were saying Ganguly and Dravid had to be removed as they were not performing.
What about Ponting or even Gibbs ? Why are those players dont face criticism from stupid Indian fans. If Gibbs or Afridi had made 10 t0 15 runs, DC would have won today.

definetely afridi should have played sensibly at that peak of time . had he been a bit patience DC would have won the match. afridi should learn from young rohit sharma . rohit u r absolutely amazing . keep on champ. just play ur natural game.

Gibbs should have been sent as opening player(please check his records as opening player). Laxman is not good at scoring with great strike rate. That job should be left for people who can do it.

Gaurav, i don't what is with you and your appreciation for Laxman, when DC is losing so many matches due to his captaincy. I am sure most of the DC fans are very angry at Laxman right now. So please shut up.

Why are you so hung up about records ? The fact remains Laxman made runs while Gilchrist and Gibbs didnt.
Why would you change the order for no reason ?
Your criticism should be directed at non performing players in the team.
You're just assuming that Laxman is not a good opening batsman (which has been proved incorrect) and seem to stick to the same argument without any basis.
