I request the authorities to rate each test centre for its facilities including the pitch and any test centre that fails to get pass marks like Chennai should be banned for next 10 tests or 30 ODI's. Only this will ensure that sub-standard ground does not result in loss of interest in the game with everybodies money.
Who wants to watch such boring Tests ? On the last day afternoon I think more people were watching the exciting ICL T20 match . Are Tests meant for only achieving personal milestones ! This is not to run down some exceptional batting on both sides but without an exciting finish or RESULT, it is a totally wasteful exercise and SA do move to Abad with some psychological advantage. But I am not sure the Indian team management were very positive as otherwise they would have included three spinners. Of course the seamers will also have to at least pick few wickets . Result was out of question , but Kumble could have made the ending more interesting by going with all out spin attack including using services of Sehwag right from the word go. It seems the Indian think tank wants to wear out the seniors just by making them field for long hrs in the sweltering heat. Already Sachin has opted out and we can expect Ganguly to be the next victim at Abad. He is seen to be too exhausted even to bend down and pick the ball !

after this T20 now ppls have less interest in watching TEST cricket, and if these pitch curators keeps on making these types of pitches, the interest in TEST matches will die soon.
they shd make good live pitches...atleast there shd be turn...not a dead pitch like this.
ICC and BCCI should wake from their slumber and ban dead pitches for test matches. Pitches for test matches should be bowler friendly and not a graveyard for them. Unless they do them , test matches shall soon be a history.

i agree to a minimal... dravid could haved batted lttle agresively to declare well before to try us to get S.A bowled out... its just atry... but at the same time i also salute dravids contribution to indian cricket.... HATS OF TO U...
During the first test South Africa posted a huge score against India tearing our bowlers.No bowler dominated the SA team and had limited attack which made SA job easy.Selectors should not over depend on spinners. Purush

The pitch was flat. To me any bowler who showed some promise for a brief time in this entire match was Styne. After getting out Dhoni, he ran through other batsman and all clean bowled very rapidly. One has to be that fast to leave a impression on the game. I feel Munaf Patel when initially came into the team had that extra pace to scare and run through the tail enders. But now he is running after girls and and himself runs like a girl on the feild. We dont have many many faster bowlers. MRF looks to be running a resort for mediam pacers.
The least captain/coach could do is swap positions of Ganguly and Laxman. Can't see why Laxman should bat below Ganguly. Both might have similar records, but Laxman has runs against Quality attacks whereas Ganguly has made Test runs mostly agasinst mediocre attacks (in case one needed this reasoning)

bcoz ganguly has said that he cudnt score more centuries as mostly he hd to bat with tailenders!!!!!
