Just a reason
by subbu on Mar 08, 2008 11:38 AM  | Hide replies

This guy Healy is trying to find reason for defeat. there is a saying in tamil. "The person who doesn't know how to dance would blame the stage for that". This holds good for this guy.

Well Mr Subbu,

The same is also true of Indians who give excuses when India is defeated by the aussies! Not, don't tell me that we are above all these things!

Indians may or may not hold its current level, but it would be very difficult to bounce back from here.

Aussies weakened by Warne, McGrath's retirement
by Gurudutt kamath on Mar 08, 2008 11:30 AM

This is Ausies view, The team was using high voltage game to compensate this weakness. That's the reality.

The comments of Ian Healy is as usual biased. He says one bad decision on the last day i.e. of Rahul Dravid and some poor batting from the lower order turned the match. His memory is shortliven. He forgot how Ganguly was given out by the umpire in concert with the great Ricky Ponting. Ok leave that aside.
What about the one dozen rough decisions India got in the whole Syndey test. What about Symonds getting 4 to 5 decisions out of that in his favour. Mr. Healy has shown his typical Australian nature by ignoring to comment the unsportive childish behaviour by the Australian team.
He also cannot compare India with England. England beat Australia in England and were unable to sustain that when they toured Australia (though they beat them in the one day finals). India on the other hand has time and again for last 7-8 years beat Australia regularly in the Test Matches. Now they have beaten them in the one day series also in their own soil.

It is also pertinent to note that the umpires have always been benevolent to the Australians than any other team. Recently, Shiv Chanderpaul has quoted that if the quality of umpiring would have better i.e. marginal decisions went to the other team, then every team, Bangladesh included, would have beaten Australia. In other words, Australia have always benefitted from pro umpiring....etc.
So Mr. Healy pl. note that India has got the financial muscle as well as players to be the best in the business (Also Mr. Malcom Speed pl. eat y

absolutely right, these aussies are extremely biased and arrogant, even this article of healy reeks a lot of it.
rather than pointing fingers towards opponents, it would be better if they get their act right.

aussies are still no 1
by bharat conductors on Mar 08, 2008 11:19 AM  | Hide replies

Aussies are still no 1 team in the world. They have dominated cricket for last 10 years. They have certainly been weakened due to the departure of warne , MCgrath and now Gilchrist.India has accomplished a huge task by beating the aussies , but they will only become great if they dominate world cricket completely like the Aussies have done for last 10 years

as long as healy was the WK, india lost to Oz in Oz but have won the home series in 1996(remember nayan mongia's 152 in the one off delhi test), 1998(sachin vs warne series), 2001(bhajji series)...2003-04 battle in Oz was spectacular(1-1)..2004, Oz won in india and given the sydney fiasco, which the ICC shd have abandoned, it wd have gone indias way....so, its improper on the part of healy to say that Oz slump was due to warne and mcgra...wen they were there, they were soundly thrashed in all their previosu tours in india(except for 2004)...so, its india which has the upper hand against them in the last 12 years...

In 2004 it was 2-2,The chennai test was abondoned due to rain in the final day,and india was needing only lessthan 200 runs to win with all the 10wickets intact
