Dhoni- you are egoistic
by unni kp on Mar 03, 2008 04:34 AM

It was a very pity scene yesterday with dhoni in presentation ceremony. He could have definitely said a few words about young Rohit Sharma, who played such an important innings. SHAME ON YOU MAN. Instaed you praised bowlers.Ofcourse they did their job well. But I remmeber you blaming young rohit sharma for losing a match, since he got run out when he was out there running for you. You dont deserve to be there.

Is Dhoni Sensible captain?
by on Mar 03, 2008 04:25 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni's comments@presentation ceremony were lacking appreciation of Rohit Sharma & Sachin Tendulkar's efforts. Dhoni always avoid to talk at his own about Sachin's innings. In one way its good a player who is technically zero and just riding on luck should not talk about GOD of cricket. If dhoni's attitude continue growing like this he will be soon out of indian team forget about captaincy, Great player like Saurav and Rahul suffered from this then who is M S Dhoni? As a captain dhoni should start acting sensibly and should motivate his fellow team mates. God bless M S Dhoni and Our salute to GOD of cricket Sachin R Tendulkar

What else we can ask for, a ton from Sachin and victory against the OZ team. He has silenced his critics (at least for a while). Last night it was a treat to watch Schin bat, he was in full control, focused and determined. He was there till the job done. Well Done Sachin, we love you and hope for more memorable days like that.

If Sachin fails in 3-4 games out of 30 that he played in the last year, the critics were all over him, whereas Ricky Ponting against whom they compare Sachin all the time has failed throughout this summer (except for a couple of knocks) but we dont see the Aus fans going after him. It is because Aus continue to win despite Ponting's failures and they dont depend upon one person to win/loose the game. In India they want Sachin to score a hundred and win in every game, even if he does they still find faults. Ian Chappell rightly told that Sachin has set a very high standard for himself and he knows when he is not doing well and if he does not, he is the first person to get upset. He does not need the TV commentators, players or others to analyze his failures. Sachin will be the first one to seek advice from whoever he thinks can provide so, when he is not able to find answers to his faulures. That is why he is able to perform consistently for 18 years despite several injuries and unrealistic expectations. He is always a student of the game and also helps the youngsters perform well. So no matter what Sachin does, the critics will always be there.

Excellent reply by Another Indian!!! We don't need people like "Gopal Krishna" doing nonesense acts like this to try and divide our great nation! Don't bring Dhoni's name into this, he has done a great job as captain and Sachin did his job as batsman. I am sure "Gopal Krishna" is just a facade under which some aussie or something is hiding. You coward, come out with your true colours!!! And don't insult our God, Lord Krishna, by using his name and trying to spread regional hatred!! Get out of this forum! And congrats to Team India and to the Under-19 team to captain Virat Kohli for winning the World Cup!!!

nd also it seems after Sachin silences his critics they can seem to digest it right. It doesnt require a Dhoni to tell sachin to do wat is required, there are i guess other 10 guys in the team who i think should also contribute right?? So hopefully u will understand that it was team India who won and not Sachin...

Why not try out another young player instead of UV?
by Gorango Thakurta on Mar 03, 2008 04:00 AM  | Hide replies

India should get rid of UV to build a a better team. It will demoralize the rest of the young performers, if they persist with UV. This UV guy talks the talk, but cannot walk the walk. One good innings in about a dozen should not guarantee a place in the team for the whole season! Here is UVs Ozzie adventure:

Test 1 (MCG)
Yuvraj c Gilchrist b Clark 0 (11)
Yuvraj lbw b Hogg 5 (10)

Test 2 (Sydney)
Yuvraj lbw b Lee 12 (24)
Yuvraj c Gilchrist b Symonds 0 (3)

Tour game against ACT
Yuvraj Singh c Dean b Perera 2 (15)
Yuvraj Singh c Dean b Ritchard 3 (12)

CB 2nd ODI vs Sri Lanka
Yuvraj c M Jayawardene b Muralitharan 2 (11)

CB 4th ODI vs Australia
Yuvraj Singh c Hussey b Clark 3 (14)

CB 5th ODI vs Sri Lanka
Yuvraj Singh c Muralitharan b Malinga 6 (3)

CB 7th ODI vs Australia
Yuvraj Singh c Clark b Hogg 26 (44)

CB 8th ODI vs Sri Lanka
Yuvraj Singh b C Vaas 76 (70)

CB 10th ODI vs Australia
Yuvraj Singh c Gilchrist b Clark 5 (3)

CB 11th ODI vs Sri Lanka
Yuvraj c Dilshan b Perera 36 (35)

CB ODI 1st Final vs Australia
Yuvraj b Hogg 10 (21)

Total in 14 innings: 184 (276)
Average = 13.1 Strike Rate = 67%

I guess sachin has no haters, there are just some would-be's and have-beens who open their mouth and start talking like experts. Ponting is the current best batsman in the world and for good reason, but he's never commented on Sachin's class, dedication to team. Lets not forget Lara, Warne, McGrath and so many other grewt players who acknowledge Sachin's master class. Why whould we bother about some foolish people who get their daily dose of publicity with columns and articles??
