Legendary inning !
by atul sonare on Mar 03, 2008 10:31 AM

No one can forget that inning played by Sachin Tendulkar at right time, right approach with young players; new comers get to learn more and more if Sachin keep playing with new boys.

It was due to the magnanimous guesture of the great Dravid and correctly so that Dhoni got the Captaincy . India has done pretty well. It was the same combination of Dravid and Chappell who wanted youngsters for the Team India which was thwarted by both the media and the Ex-captain supported by the media resulting in our quick exit from 2007WC. Now , fortunately they can no more say most successful captain or anything like that. The less those people refrain from doing all these non-sense better for our cricketers as Tendulkar has rightly pointed out that those who have not played the game should keep quiet.

Friend, its well nown that those on the threshhold of retirement will always resist any attempt to make their position even more vulnerable. So many ex-players have been harping on the mistakes in the selections that with the excellent performance of the team , they are now having to eat their words.

I for one, do not even read comments by the so called experts on Sachin's lack of form / consistency etc. Even if they had achieved 50% of what Sachin has done, India would be the world champs, not the kangaroos. The Ishants and Rohits, RPs, Pathans, the Gambirs are the future. Now lets get young Raina and a few others who are warming the benches in the team and see how we really climb up the ratings ladder. lets not expect miracles overnight; let the team settle under Mahi (who incidentally is doing a fantastic job), let them make a few mistakes from which they can learn. It will only benefit the youngsters.

No need to be happy with BCC won
by RAMANATHAN JAYAKUMAR on Mar 03, 2008 10:07 AM  | Hide replies

Hi friends,
The Indian cricket control board is Private authority in India and they are acting as Private organization in India. They are enjoying what ever they are earning and not allowing Indian government to question about their income or auditing. But they are using Indian name & flag and claiming their players are playing for India. If the team winning the matches our public are showing happy and our government also giving so many benefits to the players. But you see cricket is not only a game in India and other games are not getting recognition or motivation from the government or public. Yavaraj got 6crore for his six sixes in 20-20 game but u think about other players who involved in other games like hockey, tennis etc. The last year profit for BCC is 1000crore and if that is operating by Indian government means they can spend this amount for other games. Atleast they can built hockey stadium or infrastructure for other games.
Or otherwise why we have to be happy while BCC winning the matches??
What is your opinion friends ?????

Thank god it is a private enterprise.Otherwise Lalu would have been the captain of Indian team, and Prakash Karat would be opening the batting with Mayavati.

Simple, Mr. Ramanathan:

Convert other sports councils private concerns too..
If not 1000 cr, they can surely make at least 100 Cr. profit.
An example is Tennis. Players are on their own (private enterprise) and do much better comparatively..
My 2 cents.

by heroraja on Mar 03, 2008 10:05 AM

it is quite clear that aussie players, crowd and media is more interested in creating controversies rather than performance. If key players like ponting, monkey and fat grandpa hayden focussing on chasing individuals like Bhajji,Ishant and someotherplayer( who knows) this is going to happen.Ponting continues to be worstever in aussie history even though he wont 2 worldcups.his side never get the respect any champion deserves/commands.Sure.TOUGH DAYS R AHEAD FOR RICKY AFTER GILLY RETIRES.WHERE IS THE OTHER OPENER WHO CAN PLAY AS WELL AS GILLY DOES?no answer.SUre.Aussie cricket is going the Westindies' way.Friends let us cheer for this most likely happening by this year end.

If team looses, its captain and same when team wins. Tendulkar is playing for so many years, but win against OZ in SCG has come first time and we must congratulate Our captain for leading the team. It is not the best team, even performing better and thats too after sledging and whole OZ is to demoralize Indians. Great leader must take challenges from front and let others deliver the most. dhoni is capable of taking most from team and CUDOS to him.
No doubt tendulkar is great and it was one of his top 5 innings, hats off...
Last but not the least well performance from Pravin/Ishant/Harbhajan and Rohit. Well catch of Hayden from Piyus was turning point and his bowling spell as well. Again Dhoni to take Piyush in team and best plan to beat aussies.

He should not have compromise on Hogg issue and let bhajji be penalised alone...

by dc on Mar 03, 2008 10:02 AM  | Hide replies

I think Bhajji needs to be thrown out of the team. He is no saint himself!! I feel he is disrepute to Indian Cricket and truly an obnoxious little weed.
Why are'nt people like Sachin, Dravid, Kumble, Laxman in the news for the wrong reasons unlike Bhajji? Obviously, Bhajji is a problem trying to be in the news to cover up his failures in the just concluded Test Series!!

Do you want people to stop posting messages? If yes, say so.

You may be right on that one. But then cricket is a team game. One can't get the batsman bowled out all the time. And those shots could well have gone for sixes if the length or timing was slightly different

Nobody is a saint in today's world. Can you ignore a guy and let him off the hook has just spit on your face. I'll leave the answer to you. I am not a big Harbajan fan but under these circumstances whatever he is doing is not outrageous. Please understand that his is a reaction to obnoxious action

U are very right.

* In all probability he called Symonds Monkey
* Then to get off from being penalised, he changed it to 'Teri Maa - ki'
* To defend him, He, team management and board officials stated that it is very common slang in India and everybody uses it in daily conversation.

* I do not think all Indians say 'Teri Maa-ki' in daily usage commonly

* To DEFEND ONE VULGAR PERSON (HARBHAJAN), WHOLE OF INDIA HAS BEEN DEFAMED, JUST TO PROTECT HIM FROMBEING BANNED.

Moreover nowadays his performance is just average and their are some spinners better than him.

What I said was about Harbhajan

To kyon bhadak raha hai?

By starting ur message with abusive words you are indicating that you do not have valid point.

I said, Harbhajan by stating that Teri Maa-ki is used by very commonly by Indian has brought disrepute to all Indians. I think u are unable to understand the message.

Give reasonable counter-arguement or do u agree to defame all Indians (that they use abusive langauage in all conversation)

Sachin scored century only to ensure that he scores a century in Aussie pitches. In the process India won the match.I dont consider sachin as a team player. He is moreselfish.Nobobdy can dispute this.Let him score atleast 40 /50 in any one of the remaining final/s.I hope India will finish tour on Tuesday itself.but the fact everybody forgot is sachin scored century only for personal reasons in the process india won the match.so sachin's fans dont get toooooooo excited about sachin's unexpected century in a final of such importance.

Please give Sachin is credit. If we go by your logic every player in the team can be slotted as selfish, which is not the case. We all tend to believe that cricketers are gods and they should play to their maximum capacity in every single innings and series. The should not commit any mistakes. Please don't get in to negative mind frame and try to enjoy this moment of victory

When a player make a century it comes to prsonal account as well as teams account. Team will win and the player will get the credit also. Let other players also make century. Every Indian wants all the other ten players to bat like sachin, so that India will be the world champions. Show any Indian player like Sachin, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Ganguly, Dravid, where is consistency.
