Commendable win
by Michael Ponnudurai on Mar 03, 2008 12:27 PM

It is a creditable win for India. Sachin played a pivotal role for this victory. Congrats to Indian team.
It is going to be very tough for Australia to win from here on. Let us hope there is good contest, however.

EMPHATIC WIN FOR YOUNGSTERS
by damodaran mohan on Mar 03, 2008 11:58 AM  | Hide replies

Well done team India. Credit goes to captain Dhoni for steering the young team to an emphatic win. He seems to be getting the combination right most the time and is also able to carry the team together. The two spinners were very crucial. Tendulkar played a timely champion like innings to coast India to the victory after a long long time, perhaps after his two innings in the Austral.Asia cup nearly a decade earlier. In between he made tons of records but rarely as useful runs as he did in this match. We are all happy Sachin has delivered on his expectation commensurate with his stature. Rohit Sharma also played a calm and very intelligent innings dodging the fielders whenever they were moved up. Robin Utthappa should try to learn from him and plan his shots more intelligently(more ground shots please) rather than throwing his wickets. On the other hand the lazy looking shot of Yuvraj reflected poorly on his mental alertness in the game.

It was well and truly a thoroughly professional, clinical, no-nonsense, well-paced, no-panic, full teamwork..

As rightly pointed out by you, everyone contributed, and made this a grand success..

Wishing Team India great luck for the Gabba..

I disagree. Dhoni has been a lucky captain.
He is playing politics. Retaining non performers like Yuvraj and Uthappa.
I think sehwag should be in team in place of uthapa.

Harbhajan Vs Symonds
by Ashok Grover on Mar 03, 2008 11:47 AM  | Hide replies

To call Symonds monkey is painful and immoral. He can't change his figure? He is a great cricketer. But now and then after having his wicket, Harbhajan's gestures are not laudable. It can cause inferiority complex in Symonds, which is not good in any way.

Harbhajan should not cross the limits of good behaviour.

Ashok Grover

Just what did Manjrekar say anyway?
by Common Man on Mar 03, 2008 11:32 AM  | Hide replies

So is Sachin guided by what Manjrekar says now? He may write that Sachin is the greatest ever batsman that ever played the game.

Then what happens - Sachin will score a series of ducks in the next 20 innings???

Sachin is a seasoned, mature professional sportsman yaar!!! He doesn't need no Manjrekar tell him anything.

He was having a bad patch that's all. We all go through the same.

Remember, he shuoldered 1-billion dreams since 1989. After all, he too is a human yaar - he can feel the pain, anguish, sorrow when he cannot score and get the team win.

Thanks Another Indian. I didn't mean disrespectful of anyone. But someone was trying very hard to give some credit to Manjrekar that he provoked Sachin to play a big game.

It was like, Sachin hit a good knock due to Manjrekar - which is absurd.

This hurt me and hence I spoke in favor of Sachin.

And this idiot seriously believes that Sachin the great has time to come on this forum and read his intellectual offerings!!!
I mean, the way some people think.. :-)
