Your records are right.But we won the first Asia cup after that.Defended the world cricket title after 2 years in Australia,won the Rothmans cup In Sharajah.
Even we lost test series and One day series after the world cup in 1983,India Have shown the cricket world that, it cannot be written off in any big match events.

Comparing Kapil Dev with MS Dhoni will be like comparing a professional horse with a donkey, A professional horse is always performnnce oriented whereas a donkey will always bray like Dhoni.
Kapil Dev managed to captain the Indian Team when he was one of the younster and he had senior players like Sunil Gavaskar, Mohinder Amarnath and Syed Kirmani in the Team.Kapil Dev did not depend on other'sperformance but he showed it his Team menbers how to perform by scoring 175 runs against Zimbabwae in Tunbridge Wells when India was 28/4.
MS Dhoni on the other hand has to depend on Sachin Tendulkar, Gautham Gambhir, ROhit Sharma, Yuvraj SIngh, Irfa Pathan and Viru Sehwag to win Matches.
MS Dhoni is donkey of dhobi..................................

U fool, I have clearly mentioned the Captaincy skills and levels of Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev was a performer whereas MS Dhoni is a non-performer.
BTW where U part of MS Dhoni clan of donkeys.....................

Yaa dude, I agree with U, I guess u compared Dhoni with Donkey with lots of difficulty, I was trying worst stuff to compare:-)
When Dhoni is Playing I remember him as sweeper... he can join in Munciple dept.
