With Due respect to the Kapils Team, there rises a doubt in my mind. In 1983, Kapils team was given a prise money of 20kUSD wheras in 2007 Australia got 1.2mUSD as the prize money.
Such was the Popularity of cricket after the 1983 win.
Now there is this 20-20 format, Again India wins it in 2007.
Does this not seem to be planned???

Why blame Kapil's team I don't understand.

Taking that things are planned, making India win in 1983 does not make sense because India did not posses the money power that India today has.

So 1983 was a genuine win. But after 1990, I don't trust the wins and loses. Even the recent Kitply is a fix. Pakistan takes kitply so india could have the asia cup. And to satisfy Indian cricket crazy fans, India wins the league in Kiptply.

Illegal Indian betting, should have very old past, even before '83 WC, only thing could be it was played with few select rich persons.
Now it has come out in open, played by every one & press giving betting figure rates prior to match is only taking this illegal betting further up.

Let us mark / select Man to man of that world cup winning squad and the present bunch in all aspects. Then start eliminating the Have done / Have not done . But our selection commitee i persume goes with the adages " Haves and Have nots " !. Lets forget celebrity status and look for real players , who are langushing in the ghettos of Delhi , Culcutta, Mumbai, Chennai , Lucknow, Kanpur, Chandigargh ,etc...Certainly the affairs of BCCI and selection comittee should be in the hands of Ex-Players and Professional Sports Managers. Thers is no doubt about it.
