Michael Holding's comments last evening
by Mature Stud on Jan 15, 2008 01:54 AM

"I won't pinpoint the exact teams, but Australia isn't far from the top (for poor behaviour)," Holding said. "I base that on their excessive appealing and the way they intimidate umpires," the Jamaican was quoted as saying by Herald Sun.

"I would say the reaction from the Australians when an appeal is turned down is a lot more aggressive than other teams, which intimidates the umpire. I have seen many good umpires fall to pieces in Australia," the former pace man, nicknamed 'Whispering Death', said.

4-0 defeat
by Surag Singh on Jan 15, 2008 12:28 AM

We will suffer a 4-0 defeat. This time no umpires or racism to be blamed. We lost 4-2 in India in the recent ODIs. We have never won a Test series in Australia. The richest board has the worse players.

Molestations on the rise. What national honour?
by Surag Singh on Jan 15, 2008 12:18 AM

We have time for cricket but we are seeing that crimes against women are on the rise. Corruption is rampant. 300 million live below the poverty line. I could go on.And BCCI is not the Govt of India but a club.

When we elect politicians and make them chairman of such sensitive Boards,we should get used to swallow humiliations and abuses by dominant white skin bulling. For them it was a deal, meal and good feel.At least I am happy all the cricketer's were together unlike our ??? great politicians.

Now the real enemy is Sharad Pawar and not even Australia. Indians should do some thing to get rid of him from politics as wellas BCCI.

Natural death to harbhajan issue by BCCI?
by Shyam Prasad on Jan 15, 2008 12:05 AM  | Hide replies

BCCI will never pull out of the tour. Bhajji will not be freed of racism charges. It is stupid that we have "FORGIVEN HOGG." There should have been initial hearing into the case. The referee's biased nature would have come into light if that had happened. Probably, there is a possibility that Kumble might have been asked by BCCI bosses to 'FORGIVE & WITHDRAW' charges against HOGG. Let us simple forget and bury our self-respect etc., One thing, BCCI should know that the players on-field are represinting India and there respect/honor is India's self-respect and India's honor. Please not even for a fraction of a second, make them play against their self-respect, they are not race horses they are indeed gentlemen representing India, the great nation.

CRICKET IS GREATER THAN AN INDIVIDUAL; DONT FORGET, THE NATION AND ITS PRIDE MUST AND SHOULD BE ABOVE INDIVIDUALS, CRICKET, AND THE CRICKET BOARD POLITICS.

I have a feeling Kumble does not care for Bhajji. He is trying to save his skin and appear good.

Well said. Racism charges are really serious. India should not play cricket until the racism charges are withdrawn.

Backdoor diplomacy
by rohan handa on Jan 14, 2008 11:47 PM  | Hide replies

While news channels flash breaking news about bans and meeting between captains, there is strong backdoor diplomacy at work between ICC , BCCI, Cricket Australia and the sponsors of this tour which include TV broadcast channels. Nobody wants to loose money as a result im sure Bhajji will be given full exoneration from the charges against him, because the threat to withdraw still stands. So my friends in the end all this might just be a big publicity stunt.

You're exactly right. That's what is going to happen. Kumble dropping the charges very much explains what's comming next. He must have done that under BCCI advice, supported by CA and ICC

Who's responsible ?
by Anand Patwardhan on Jan 14, 2008 11:05 PM

The Indian players always act defensive on field & so is the rest of world dominates them. if u make an aggresive image (like aus do), the whole world perception will change & they will start thinking its a professional jargon rather than our cowerdness. why indian players always have to see jelly beans rather than throwing a few themselves & later on being clean chit on basis of innocence ?
