Ponting and Clarke should be banned for couple of Tests/4-5 ODIs for for claiming an illegal catch.

Just look at the mindset of yet another Aussie: Dude, if you had even the silghtest bit of self respect, you woul dhave written a message in support of punter and the rest of the team. instead you decided to rant about india.

My dear charlie ,
Where ever you are, you are the biggest racist in this discussion. And by the way Australia is not yours mate, this was of aboriginal people whom you first settlers killed and eliminated them and discriminated against them. Will you please leave australia and go back to where your grandfathers came from. India has always welcomed people and does not have history like you do.Iam not blaming all aussies but creeps like you.get out and for your info indians and new immigrants are contibuting to australia now more then ever so keep your garbage to yourself and rot. How can you call australia a great sporting nation with this cricket team under Ponting?. Even your own country men are speaking against your team behaviour and morality.

australia is winning in their country for years only due to the bad decisions by umpires. and with a great help of sledging.otherwise even bangladesh can beat them.
So cheaters dont play. stay away from gentlemens game.

You can already see Ponting backing down (now realising what he's done)
by S Chandra on Jan 11, 2008 07:36 AM  | Hide replies

Read this quote from the above article -

"I carried out my duties as captain," Ponting told the Nine Network on Thursday. "It's not about me reporting anybody, it's the umpires' job to do that and that's what they did."

He's already trying to squirm out of the position he finds himself in, which is being on the receiving end of a lawsuit by trying to imply that its the umpires who have filed the charge to the match referee.

In the light of the fact that the umpires didnt hear anything, and this charge was brought by the Australians, he doesnt have a leg to stand on, on this one.

Take this guy to court, I plead the BCCI.
He is guilty of wrongful accusation, and defamation !!
Take this guy to court , I say !
Let the court decide if there's no evidence to prove he invented this story is just made it up to prosecute Harbhajan !
But take Ponting to court, BCCI !

Hahaha, I didnt mean it to rhyme, not sure why u consider it poetry !
Well, let me write it in a language you'll understand better.

Ponting needs to be dragged into a court for publicly defaminh Harbhajan.

He should be sued for defamation charges !

And Hayden, Clark and Gilchrist should be charged with providing false witness under oath !!

The punishment for which is imprisonment !!

Get it ??

Kumble adds more strength to the theory that there's no evidence !
by S Chandra on Jan 11, 2008 07:23 AM  | Hide replies

Jumbo has written an article in HT (obviously the team management and the board must have cleared him to do so), in which he puts his own reputation on the line that there's no evidence against Harbhajan !

Its kind of confirming something I've suspected all along, that this case was filed without evidence, and previous behaviour (or something like it) was used to pass this judgement on Bhajji !

Please read this article everyone. Its on HT.
It has the perfect title -

"Nothing racist was said or intended. We are neither unnerved nor guilty"

A perfect title !! And its a great article.

Puts the blame right where it belongs, in front of the Australian cricket team.

@S Chandra:

How did Jumbo know there is no evidence? He was not even on the ground when the incident happened. The 5 Aussies mentioned were at least on the ground (though we Indians are claiming that they couldn't have heard anything etc..)

I'm not against Bhajji. I'll be the happiest if (and when.. touchwood) he gets cleared in the appeal. But I'm just curious as to what kind of arguments are currently doing the rounds.. and yours looked one of the interesting ones.

Cheers.

Ponting talk does not translate into actions
by Jim on Jan 11, 2008 02:55 AM  | Hide replies

Ponting may want his team to be remembered as a lovable bunch but, I have to tell you I long for the days of the West Indian Domination of cricket and hope for an Indian domination.

West Indies side was the most dignified side that was loved by people who lost to them. THey were not the kind that said a word to their opponents. It was more their actions. When Holding, Roberts, Marshall, Patterson, etc were coming in to bowl quick there was a love for them rather than a feeling of disgust.

When Lloyd went out there to bat or when King Richards was hitting the ball out of the park or even when Dujon was repairing an innigs because the big names failed, we loved watching it.

Now I have to agree with Sunil Gavaskar on this. Aussies and Ponting will be remembered as the most disgusting team on earth in all sports. When Jordan played in the NBA, 80 year old grandmas wanted to watch the guy soar. It did not matter if they were Chicago fans or not. When Ponting bats today, I feel that he does not deserve the talent god gave him. I feel that god put that talent in the wrong hands.

Ponting to me is like Latrel Spreewell if people know the NBA you know who that guy is.

Aussie media while enjoying their team's dominance which is not here for long, has forgotten about the "ugly aussie" stuff their team is practicing. I wish and hope India comes home. If they dont, they are doing a dis-service to the nation.

Ban the Controversial Second Test in Sydney
by on Jan 11, 2008 02:38 AM  | Hide replies

Why the second test in Sydney is not banned yet? The root cause of this test match has been the adoption of unfair means to win the test match. This test is definitely not played in true spirit by the Australian Team. They are simply dishonest. The team should be condemned vigorously and the extremely dishonest and outrageous Ricky Pointing and Andrew Symonds should be banned from playing further as they provoke outburst and unfairness. Nobody is really getting the point clearly. The frustration being shown by the players over too many below par decisions, which changed the course of the match. And the Aussies definitely allowed to help the wrong decisions. Every time the Aussies are getting away with some kind of excuses. Everybody can see clearly how they won the match. They are famous for sledging. Any sport should be played with the utmost fairness to judge the real winner, but definitely not the way Aussies play. The umpire controls the match and if he makes a mess of it, then what is the fun in playing the sport.
