The real woMAN of the Match
by Indian on Feb 19, 2008 09:38 PM

Dipika had given an ultimatum to both Dhoni and Yuvi...Whoever wins the match for India gets to....
So both played out of their skin...Now who ultimately was responsible for the win is something she will have tough time to decide...

Malinga's action is suspicioun
by Mash on Feb 19, 2008 09:38 PM  | Hide replies

Really wonder about one thing that why don't anybody is questioning Malinga's action as he clearly chucks the ball. ICC took acion on Muralli, Shoaib, Shabbir Ahmed or even questioned Brett Lee. The action of all these bowlers are quite satisfactory as compared to Malinga. I just think when he will create records & especilly when he will start troubelling Aussies often then ICC will start their regular drama.Really his name should be Pheku Malinga by the way he bowls.

having a sling action doesn't constitute chucking or throwing. His arm is straight all through. Bhajji actually has a bent arm which straightens and its still deemed legal, as is murli's. Malinga's is actaully clean, its just from a low trajectory and is round armish.

may b ashwin. but at the point of delivery looking from slow motion, it looks like he is chucking, mash has valid doubt.

learn to give credit where it's due.. India played the game too... Dhoni and Yuvraj batted with purpose and common sense which won the game. The bowlers bowled a very restrictive line and length to halt the sri lankan progress initially and wrested the initiative in India's favor at the start.

had india lost the match today then dhoni would have blamed the bowlers for their batting failure

just because he along with yuvi didn't want players like dada and dravid saying that pitches in Australia r no more bouncier as it used to be in the past and they(the present team) can easily handle the bounce and pace. But tell me r u satisfied with their batting performance.all that I want is india to win the match.doesn't matter who play.

hmmm, another case of short term memory where one good ball that bowls and opening batsman kinda makes everyone forget the ferocity with which he has been batting all year around.

I dont remember any star retiring from the SL lineup that went to the WC finals, so why is this B-grade. Whether Aussies will win or not will be seen, but it just doesnt register that a team with Jayawardene, Jayasuriya, Sangakarra, Vaas, Murali, Dilshan, Maharoof and Malinga can be B-grade, esp since each one of them was responsible for them to get the WC finals. Chamara Silva has played several crucial innings in the WC, and Amerasinghe is a good bowler. Do you actually watch games or pretype the message to be posted the end of the game.

Tendlyas failures helping the team
by Rakesh Narayan on Feb 19, 2008 09:07 PM

Hes been a little unlucky with beauties being bowled and some shockers and some poor shot selection, but his failures are what have made this Indian teams efforts more enjoyable. What a great win yesterday. The only bad performance in this tournament has been that performance against the Aussies which could have been avoided if Dhonis runout would have been avoided. But you learn from your mistakes. I think the Indian team has already grown in this series beating the no 1 and no 2 ODI sides and making a great case for the Finals. And all this with a few experiments of playing Pravin Kumar and 5 bowlers in the last 2 games. Dhoni has the makings of a great team leader. Damn doe she have inordinate amount of beleif in his team or what and that chiding of Rohit Sharma and belief in Yuvi (an underachiever for long now) reminded me of Imran's captaincy. Go India lets get that berth sealed with 2 great wins. Long way to greatness for Dhoni, but hes making giant strides towards it.
