No Yuvraj!!
by Rohan on Sep 17, 2007 09:34 PM  | Hide replies

They should not make Yuvraj the captain. Not so long ago he beat a guest at his own birthday party. There was a criminal case against him (not sure if it was resolved but thats besides the point).

We dont want a temperamental character as captain of India. I dont mind Laxman, Ganguly, Tendulkar, Kumble, Dhoni or even Agarkar as captain of India but no Yuvraj please. He also has some bollywood babe has his girlfriend (same with Zaheer). We want responsible mature individuals for captaincy not immature unprofessional characters.

Yuvraj has a cool head on his shoulders. Time and again he prooved that he could handle pressure situations. He is agressive which is most important aspect of being a leader. yuvraj has more exposure to international cricket then any of the youngsters. He never had to face any disciplinary action because of his attitude. He gets along with all the youngsters back from under 19 world cup. He get along with all the seniors. He has 7-8 years of international experience. He is matured and he is still young. So i just wonder why people say that he can't be captain because of his attitude?

captaincy
by ROHAN M. on Sep 17, 2007 09:23 PM

I think we shud go by the South African way ,
give responsibility to new blood & Dhoni or Yuvraj is a good choice,
as it is we are in a mess , nothing can get worse for Indian Cricket , than S.P. (the boss)

Good choice!!
by Rohan on Sep 17, 2007 09:16 PM

Laxman for test captaincy and Dhoni for one day captaincy is an excellent choice. Ganguly was a good captain but its time to move on forward and look for new candidates.

But in the end, I am sure Tendulkar or Agarkar will get the nod from the BCCI for obvious reasons ;)

Please correct ur geography.MS Dhoni is from EAST. If u know him personally Dhoni has never been a captain even in his school team and oth. qualifying teams. Go thru my words he is never a leader.

They had Rahul as a captain and then Vengsarkar was publicly criticising him... some support indeed... the days of Mumbai politics is back with Sharad Pawar... and if Agarkar can be included in the national team, then Bush should be given the Nobel Peace prize... LOL!

You are absolutely right.
[1]He is the senior most player in this Twenty20 squad. So He deserves captaincy.
[2]No player, except him, is certain of his place in Twenty20 and One dayers.
[3]It is the past experience that captain's form dip sharply , when he takes over.I am absolutely sure, in Agarkar's case , he would not touch new low.He has already touch the nadir.

Let Sachin be the Test captain.Agarkar should be One day and Twenty20 captain for a long run, keeping India's future in mind.

Well said Chandra!! If there is no captaincy every one can play their own game and improve their performance (According to Dravid). So success rate would be better.

Replacing Captain
by kousik kumar on Sep 17, 2007 08:16 PM  | Hide replies

Yes,for me the politics in BCCI has proven again to have upper hand in INDIAN CRICKET.But we can't say that either DHONI can replace him. I think he can concentrate in his batting and keeping.According to me the test captain and the ODI captain shopuld be the same player. Take South Africa they had give the Captancy to Smith at his early 20's. Like India should give the chance to DINESH KARTHIK or Some One who replaces these three. My final suggestion is drop these three for atleast the upcoming home series and give chance for then against Aussies.

1st let Dinesh Karthik know how to bat and stand in the field. It seems that u r a Chappel lover and want to go by his word or decision.

I completely agree with you. Dhoni is for ODI for sure. Whereas for test Laxaman has to prove his batting consistancy. Kumble would be a better choice on his experience. Also, we need to give captaincy to the bowlers as batting is our only strength and we don't want take risk in here.

Laxman has to prove what?????????? He has a better test average than Ganguly, Jaffer and Yuvraj. He has proved enough. Its the regionalism and bias existing in BCCI that make them drop him each time for no fault of his. If you want to confirm Laxman's real worth, read what some of the Asutralian greats or current players have to say about him.

GANGULY IS THE BEST CAPTAIN. IT PROVED IN THE PAST TOO.. SO JOKERS MUST GIVE PROPER RESPONCE TO THE PUPLIC OPENION, PLS LEAVE BAD POLTTICS AND CONSTRACT TEAM FOR 2011 WORLD CUP , WITH GOOD CAPTAIN LIKE GANGULY . HE MAY BE AGED BUT EXPERIANCE OF THAT GUY MUST BE VALUED PROPERLY
