It has become a part time job for Kapil to comment on players (mostly negatively) who deserve much more respect than Kapil.

true, its not as if its the end of world for Indian cricket.

Of course Dravid was no less good captain than gang.. about whom ppl have misconception. If Dravid continued for 2 more years (a total of 4 yrs compared to gang's 5 yrs) Dravid would have become more successful than gang.

Who cares Bangalore is shoked or not?????????
by Birju on Sep 15, 2007 08:41 AM  | Hide replies

No body should bother whether Bangalore is shocked or plunged in grief - bottom line is Dravid was not at all fit to be the captain in the first place and his resignation came pretty late the same should have come after World Cup debacle itself .......but better late than never. Let Sachin or Sourav (this man with all his skill limitations as a batsman is a excellent leader, should be given priority as captain ahead of Sachin) be the captain.

Sachin and Gang should never me made captain again. India shouldn't lose on batting front for the so called 'great captain'.

I think Dravid was a better captain performer, while gang was only a captain.

Dravid won us the Test series in WI(without Gang and Sachin) on his own.
Has the so called great captain gang ever done like this in his entire Test career?

Dravid as a Captain
by Uttamkumar Samanta on Sep 15, 2007 05:42 AM  | Hide replies

If Dravid's leadership and wining record is so greater than other captains of India, tell me one thing why such a team under such a great leader exited from WC 07 in the first round very pathetically ?
This was never happened in India's history under comparatively low rated previous captains as defined by
followers and lovers of Dravid.
If you give wining record as his record, loosing record is also his own.
So, was the exit of WC 07 in the first round is a true "flame test" of the inability and lack of
leadership quality Dravid ?

@Uttamkumar

and mind you when gang was captain, Dravid did play good innings.

ppl count only failures of Sachin and of late Dravid also, and count success of the rest.

@Uttamkumar

because Sachin, Ganguly and Dhoni -- 3 important batsmen didn't perform in the decider against SL.

u r talking as if gang performed a magic in 2003. gang's main benefit was that Sachin was at one of his best phase during WC 2003. gang always took credit by riding on the rest 10 players.

India's early exit from the WC was not due to Dravid man... Its only due to the team's poor performance...
There were so many limitations in the Indian team when Dravid was a captain... poor batting, pathetic bowling and worst fielding... In addition to that, group of clowns in the name of BCCI...
How could you win a world cup with players like Sehwag, Yuvraj, Harbhajan... Everybody think they r stars and they obviously won't cooperate with others...

If Kashmir can be described as:
"Agar dharti par kahin swarg hai
to yahin hai, yahin hai, yahin hai"

then b'lore can be definitely described as
"Agar dharti par kahin nark hai
to yahin hai, yahin hai, yahin hai"

No less than that. I wonder what happens to all the taxpayers money that Bangalore has not got even a good sewage system!!
Shame on politicians and ppl who support them.

Dravid is not from BLR as many ppl think. and how can this point be an issue/'talking point' at all???

this is the reason that regional parties who many times go against national interest survive in different parts of India.

BCCI Panel bunck of idiots
by nischal maniar on Sep 15, 2007 12:24 AM  | Hide replies

The reason for dravids decision is the stupid BCCI ... who havent placed any kind of coach as yet when the team needs most and Dravid has to do all the stuff that a coach has to do.
Although its good he resigned and we can have a good young aggressive captain, someone like Dinesh Karthik. He has a good sensible head on his shoulders.
