by Suvankar Dey on Sep 14, 2007 06:44 PM  | Hide replies

He is not aggressive. He does not know those batsman & bowler are perfect for perfect place . So he didn't use the bowler & batsman properly .
So I need DADA as a captain in INDIA

I am a bengali too, but I believe that Sachin is the right person to lead India now. Going by his current form he looks like the Sachin of mid 90s.
He commands respect not only from the younger generation, who seem to revere him a lot, but also from the media, board officials, and the masses.
Don't start bad mouthing bengalis if someone roots for Saurav. There are so many Non-bengalis in this forum who want Saurav back as captain again. Saurav is doing quite well without the burden of captaincy, and we should enjoy that.

I fully agree with you. It is because of guys like you that India is still a divided country who feels proud to calls themselves Gujrati, Marathi, Punjabi, Telegu, Bengali.. but never an Indian. And just listen you joker...it hardly matters whether you can tolerate 'the selfish bengali prince'... you have not even played gully cricket... how dare you comment on people like Dravid, Sachin & Saurav.

Oh yeah. U are an expert on Ganguly's ego are you? Stop being a regional chauvinist. Of course, Dravid does not have the stomach to lead India in what will be a much tougher tour against Australia. He has chickened out with phyrric victories against the softer teams. Shantanu

its great decision
by ashutosh misra on Sep 14, 2007 06:38 PM

although the decison was shocked. But it was so gracefully no one could not predicted and also he did when India won the test series.no comments on TV,newspaper.
He was the only player who never thought about himself before the team.He was knowing that he is best player for no 3 , but the team's sake he changed hie battering order.i beleive that was the only reason his form got lost , but he was not like other that i need only opening batsman like sachin not like saurav for fighting the captaincy.Still he would remain the inspiration for most of us.

Rahul is the most unpatriotic cricketer!
by Subroto Das on Sep 14, 2007 06:31 PM  | Hide replies

How else can you explain his reason for quiting the responsibility of leading the Indian team?

He wants to quit so that he can concentrate on his batting.

PUTTING ONESELF BEFORE THE COUNTRY!!!!!!

Was he sacked for his recent poor decisions in England??
by Truth Seeker on Sep 14, 2007 06:28 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI may not like his recent decisions but I am sure they wouldn't sack him before such important series. I wonder what Marati group is planning.

Appreciate Dravid for being on the right time
by subhadeep kar on Sep 14, 2007 06:26 PM  | Hide replies

As captain he played well but was always was compared with Saurav. Both had different styles, lets admit saurav is undoubltedly better captain.Dravid was lucky enough to have got escaped after the dismal world cup adventure. Now since he has some good results to show I feel it was the right time for him to concentrate on his batting than otherwise.I wish good luck to Rahul, but am anxious to see who would be the new captain. With BCCI at the helm of affairs I doubt they wont do any faux pas this time.Though Yuvraj & Dhoni are good players but still need to mature enough to lead.Lets hope the old guards are assigned the job so that the new breed can develop under them. But still believe Saurav can be given a chance to retire honourably as a captain.Lets hope for the best.
