You have excellent point Sir. BCCI & ICC will never let that happen because ICC makes 75% profit or revanu from India. BCCI people are thougs or Gundas they don't care about India or Cricket future in India. ICC is showing the money and who is running the show getting lot of money and they don't care anything else. Just like how British did to Raja's few hundred years ago. Same way they are showing lot of money to BCCI Gunda's or thougs. Look they try to open up ICL with Kapil Dev. Where is Kapil dev new with cricket? They removed him from BCCI relationship!!!! Because in BCCI they are thougs and Gunda's they are after money and they wasting all the telent.

Suresh raina is the best domestic player now
by sunil swain on Oct 29, 2007 05:21 AM  | Hide replies

God knows why he is not in the team.Raina is so talented that I will compare him with steve waugh and with his strike rate really impressivs. He should be a definite replacement for ganguly who is just playing for his place with scores like 60 of 90 balls.Really the domestic players will be dishearted.

Well said.....I am watching Indian cricket for more then 15 years now ......and I have never seen a player like Raina given so many chances.....I think he is the luckiest cricketer in India who has got so many chances afte repeating failure .....when the trusted and proved Dravid has been dropped only after few matches ...that too in most of them he came lower down teh order......Please don't concier Raina atleast for next one year.......he should underatnd playing for India is not a joke that Chappel will gift him......

CHALLENGER TROPHY
by pranam on Oct 29, 2007 05:12 AM

Why all these tournaments if performance is given a go by? Badri, Raina, Karthick Parthiv are not even in the 15 players? But poor performers are selected. Why Zaheer and Sreesanth did not play?Did they perform all that well against Aussies? All eye wash.As long as emotions rule the brain this will continue to ruin Indian cricket

sehwag has played well agaist pakistan .. people like badrinath will only play well in domastic cricket.. when they will face pak / aus bowlers they can not score and get out cheaply .. anyway rahul is out so we need some wellknown player who pak guys wud get afraid of .. sehwag is also handy baller .. if he does not perform now then he will be eliminated for loong time ..

Yea.. Sunil Gavaskar played well against West Indies let us call him when India tours. Get over it. Sehwag's technique has been dissected and analyzed minutely by every team. Sehwag needs atleast 4 or 5 dropped chances to get to big scores. I don't think he gets anything like that these days. Even today he got a life next ball out. Especially his famous "inside edge bowled" shots are more famous

I dont disagree that Sehwag's technique has been dissected especially the inside edge bowled. However if you notice in the recent games he is playing very close to his body (unlike earlier when he used to leave big gap between bad and pad). In recent T20 WC he was playing well and gave good starts. His 17 ball 40 against Eng was a good example. The very fact that that he is so unpredictable makes it all the more reason why he should be in the team especially against Pak. Moreover he can easily 6-7 overs with the ball and that means we can play an extra batsmen.

HAHAHAHAHA

Ya I accept that the domestic bowlers are way behind international quality whom badri, raina and kartik smashed all over the park but SHEWAG COULD NOT HIT THESE DOMESTIC BOWLERS ALSO (2 FAILURES AND ONE FIFTY).
Shewag HAD played well against pakistan - yeah its past.... see the curent form (as Mr.Vengsarkar quoted)
Shewag is not in form.

dravid vs tendulkar
by klc on Oct 29, 2007 01:50 AM  | Hide replies

If dravid is not selected according to merit, just look into the stats of Tendulkar and dravid. If we look into the performances of tendulkar and dravid, anyone can tell who has contributed more to Indian teams victory. Its one and only the dravid.

Dravid is not at all selfish. Plays for the team. and others are playing for records.

If dravid is not in form, he should be allowed to play in challenger trophy. If hes rested really, we're expecting tendulkar to be rested for the australian series because anyhow he'll play only for records. dravid and laxman are good enough to score runs.

Dravid has a average of 8.4 in the last 10 matches, SRT has a average of 44.7

Dravid cost us the series against Australia.had Dravid contributed even remotely,India would have drwn 3-3 with the aussies.

Dravid , when he was vice captain of Indian under Greg Chappels captaincy,LOL, and set forth the rules, if you are out of form, go back to the domestic forum.

I wonder why, people who want to remember the PAST, often overlook Dravid's PAST rules that he co-wrote with Captain Greg,LOL.

Well Done Dinesh Karthik
by Mudhalvan on Oct 29, 2007 01:48 AM

DK has proved once again that he is a handy batsmen in middle/lower middle order and like to perform in crunch situations. I'm happy that he is not selected for the first 2 ODIs, rather than picking him and making him to fail further in his uncomfortable/unlucky 1 down position and spoil his ODI career. He is already moulded as a gud match finisher and there is hardly anything to prove from his side to the selectors and he alwyas like to perform in pressure situation.

ALL THE BEST to Karthik, Raina and Badri... I'm sure you ppl will be back to Indian side much stronger and tougher.
