Once he plays his 400th One Day match, Sachin should retire from one-day cricket and focus only on test cricket. For sure, there must have been a lot of 'wear and tear' on this 400 one-day match old 'machine'. Thank you Sachin for the great job.

fyi...look at ponting or steve waugh or any other bit grt player they play like more than cricketers when it is reqired...but sachin fails like a pin when in a crucial match...its like a student getting 95 all the time for 100 and failing in main exam...ppl consider only the main exam the mid term or half yearly exams.....gotcha

DS, you have outdone yourself. I think you should have watched the "Ian Botham Review" on these comments. When you say real discussion, you need to come up with facts. The Botham review was meant to address what you claim. He showed that all this crap is baloney.

When this man won the series in Sharjah against the same Aussies, we said "Wow". The same man scored centuries at Perth on a wicked wicket, we said great. This man helped us in the 3-2 series win when Australia were in India during the 2002 series. He scored heavily in the Ireland series and the subsequent England series. He was the only one looking good at Lords before he was given out a the wrong time.
Take off those STUPIDITY glasses you wear so proudly and put on some proper glasses and see what this man has done for Indian cricket and is continuing to do.
I am not exactly a Sachin fan actually. But, I see what he has done for the team and the country. It is praise worthy.
Honestly, I want to see Indian cricketers more like Sreesanth. Boisterous and out there. Follow that trash talk with some real performance and you have an entertaining unit.
Dravid and Sachin belong to the by gone era of cricketers. But, Sachin's performance or commitment can never be questioned.

Steve Waugh did not score even a single hundred in any kind of finals so far. Steve waugh has just 9 fifties in all finals he played so far(48) of them totally with an average in finals as 32.
Ponting too has played in 48 finals so far and has only 2 century and 8 fifty with an average of 38.
Sachin has played in 47 finals so far and has an average of 46.52 with 5 Hunderds and 11 fifties.
This very clearly knows the lack of knowledge you have about cricket and cricketers
