Why Shoib?
by Sandipan Sen on Dec 01, 2007 12:04 AM  | Hide replies

It was an absolute sin for the Pak team
management to force Shoib to play in such physical condition. Didn't we all feel that?

Thank your stars for you're born in India. Look at Pakistan's political situation and ask yourself if you'd have been able to ask this question if you're born on the other side!

I feel for the Pak management. I heard they have requested PCB to send for a fakir now to cure the players with some magic!

Pak bowled less, so Jaffer missed 200 in a single day
by Sandipan Sen on Nov 30, 2007 11:57 PM

If the Pak bowlers didn't bowl 5.3 overs less today, Jaffer would have completed 200 in a single day. What an innings it was .... a perfectly chanceless and a graceful one.

why does rediff alwas do mistakes ?
by ashish vaidya on Nov 30, 2007 11:56 PM  | Hide replies

i havn't read the full report so just reporting 2 mistakes. 1. india didnt lose karthik for 1 but he got out when india were 2.
2. dravid and jaffer made a partnership of 136 runs for 2nd wicket and not 102. i know reporters have no sports knowledge which is clear from things they write as their opinions but at least try to get data correct

Idiot-- they said India lost Karthik for one--- they meant Karthik's personal score was 1 run. When you don't understand it right, why hurry and write some rubbish to get your name seen in this column. Kuch tho socho yaar. Btw second point is right so Shaabash ashish.

Unfortuntely RC u got the second one wrong , and not rediff...they r obviously referring to the morning session of ply in which the duo had indeed put on 102 runs....

400 NO
by Sudarshan Jayaram on Nov 30, 2007 11:47 PM  | Hide replies

Wasim Jaffer will go on to break the highest ever score by any batsman in test cricket-400 N.O. by Bria Lara. The way he is playing now, that is a pretty safe assumption to make.

Indian Players and Captain are not so obsessed with the record as Brian Lara to play for two and half days to achieve the record. Lara's 400 should go to to dust bin

Flat batting pitch
by Sameer K on Nov 30, 2007 11:40 PM  | Hide replies

As expected the Eden Gardens Pitch in South Africa is made flat, the reason Sourav Mahan Ganguly is playing.

Last time when SA was to play the pitch was lively, no guess why it was made to suit the home team, ie South Africa.

You got it wrong.
The one you are referring to is an ODI match, not Test. And it was no green-top. If SA could win by 9 wickets, then it couldnt be that bowler friendly.

if u go thru the record book, eden always provides some help to the fast bowlers, whether it's SA, PAK or any other team. & when the last time SA played a test match here Sourav was also part of the Indian team. Akram's team also won the test match in Eden, & again Sourav was in the team. Use some brain (if you have any) before writing illogical comments.

This is so right. That Ind vs SA match was a horrible blot with Kolkata cheering SA. Shame

had Rahul Dravid stayed..we probably would have ended with less runs on the board...Sachin and Jaffer went almost 5 an over...so may be this was a boon in disguise...especially on a feather bed wicket...
I dont dislike Dravid at all ..just that i had taken a leave yesterday and when you do something like that..you want to njoy batting as a spectacle...which Sachin and Jaffer provided...
