Yuvi in, Karthik out n Dravid opens...
by Common Man on Dec 01, 2007 04:48 AM  | Hide replies

I really like Karthik, but right now he has to go as India has a team to pick n built some confidence in the same...

i dunno whether Yuvraj could be in any better form than this in his lifetime n if he has to be in the test team ever, this is the right time for both himself n the team obviously for dift reasons...
for the team- India has some great players who might not be in the team wen next time we tour down under, so be it, this has to be our golden chance ....
remember last time we almost did it( drawn series in down under)!!!....we really have a good chance this time with the right mix of experince n youth in the team which can do the ultimate thin in cricket- beat OZ in their own den...

Jaffer, Sachin, Laxman, Dhoni n even Saurav n Dravid are havin good time against Paki, but this doesnt necessarily justifies that we have the FINAL team, YUVRAJ could have done the same, may be even better if given chance.....

so could DRAVID be asked to open??? (well, he is literally doin it already), at this point of his career.....if he can do, this is the only way Yuvi could be in the team at this time n then we can have the most POWERFUL n RUTHLESS battin line-up in the world...

please feel free to put forward ur views on this matter..

thanks

The pitch was absolute flat. It was a complete batting paradise. Even the Aussie attack would struggle to take wickets on this track. Had Pakistan batted first and scored heavily then the indian commentators would have blamed the pitch. Now they are just praising their batsmen.
Secondly even if we score 500 plus, which is very likely they would, even then it wont be the end of the world. Pakistan can still bat well and put pressure on us in the 2nd innings. Ultimately the match might end in a boring draw. We can still level the series in the 3rd Test.
This indian team has players who have played hundreds of test matches. The likes of Tendulkars, Dravids, Ganguly, Harbhajan, Kumble. These players are playing since the Wasim Waqar era. Obviously indian team will be strong with them.
Pakistan is a young team. Give it some time. In two years this team would give good results against stronger teams. Pak just need to make sure that they dont give too many chances to failed players like Kamran Akmal.

The real test of indian bastsmen will be on bouncy autralian picthes, aussies will show our reall worth.

Karthik is not a natural opener. It doesnt come to him. I agree, he has guts to play any attack but guts only is not enough. I think, If Karthik cant fit in the middle order it's better to drop him rather than wasting his and another opener's talent. He's fair enough to open the innings but not the best in the business. I prefer Sehwag and Jaffer combination.

Still feel kKartik can open away from home. He would do well in Aus. May in domestic series you play Sehwag or Gambhir as opener.

brownwashin PAK

PAK LOSES THE SERIES 0-3..
pak really deserves this n this is here to be watched upon by everyone...
they are morally down against a team lookin far superior to them in every department includin the captain, even wen v have a temporary one...

But this is one good 'test' for Indian team as they hav to let go of compalcency n kindness that somehow creeps into indian mindset in exactly these type of situations...
they have to become RUTHLESS n GOAL-ORIENTED n then only they can match other good teams esp the champs-OZ esp in their dens...

WAY TO GO INDIA>..
good luck

Right, Indian cricket history has bee dominated by arch ribval pakistan. India has never won a single home test series since 79 this is the time to take revenge, good that pakistan is going thru reconstruction and we take advantage ot as the stats speak both in test and one one day they have really kicked us badly.

Tarun Tejpal'a this week's trip to USA was sponsored by Eid Committee of New Jersey, where audiences were mainly Muslims.... Tarun Tejpal has started propagating his cheap journalism now among the already alienated Muslim breed living in USA

we'll see the same down under..
i would love to see if sach plays fearlessely against OZ down under...
lookin forward to it..
n then there would be this comparison- PONTING vs TENDULKAR..
definately the recognition- 'the best bat in the world' should again be rested upon our hero..
